Role Overview:

Your responsibility will be to oversee and execute a variety of IT infrastructure projects. These projects will include technology refresh initiatives, such as Network (Connectivity), Storage, Compute, AV, and IPT refreshes & upgrades, managing facilities projects such as relocations, closures, consolidations, and downsizes, as well as mergers and acquisitions (M&A) related IT integration project, 

Your understanding of IT Infrastructure projects and leadership will play a role in ensuring the successful completion of these initiatives on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Assessment: Conduct project assessments, including risk assessments. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to determine project objectives, requirements, expected outcomes.
  • Project Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and financial aspects. Develop comprehensive project plans outlining timelines, resource requirements, and risk management strategies.
  • Team Leadership: lead cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication of roles and responsibilities. Foster a collaborative and positive team environment to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Manage project budgets, allocating resources effectively, and optimizing cost efficiencies. Ensure the procurement of necessary equipment and services to support project objectives.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks and develop proactive mitigation plans. Anticipate and address project roadblocks to keep initiatives on track and within established timelines.
  • Project Execution: Oversee the implementation of IT Infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to established procedures and industry best practices. Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: Enforce quality standards throughout the project lifecycle, conducting regular reviews and audits to maintain project integrity and compliance.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to secure necessary resources, negotiate contracts, and monitor vendor performance.
  • Change Management: Implement effective change management to accommodate scope changes that may arise. Proactively assess the impact of scope modifications and develop appropriate plans to manage and communicate these changes to stakeholders. Facilitate discussions and obtain necessary approvals when adjustments to project objectives, timelines, or resources become necessary due to scope changes. Ensure the alignment of project teams and stakeholders with the revised project scope to maintain project success and minimize potential disruptions.
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication: Effective stakeholder management is paramount. You will build and maintain positive relationships with all parties involved in the project, including team members, leadership, sponsors, and stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills will enable you to communicate openly, listen actively, and collaborate effectively to ensure alignment and drive project success. Establish open and transparent lines of communication with all stakeholders. Provide clear and concise updates on project progress and address concerns promptly.
  • Post-Project Evaluation: Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement, creating a knowledge base to enhance future project success.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

          You should be able to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering understanding and alignment across teams.

  • Experience in IT Infrastructure Projects:

          Proven track record of managing IT infrastructure projects, demonstrating the ability to navigate technical complexities and deliver results on time and within budget.

  • Leadership and Team Management Abilities:

          You'll be leading a team of professionals, so strong leadership and team management skills are crucial for creating a collaborative and motivated work environment where everyone can thrive and contribute their best.

  • Proactivity and Risk Management:

          Being proactive and able to anticipate potential risks and challenges is essential for ensuring smooth project execution and mitigating any disruptions that may arise along the way.

  • Familiarity with Project Management Tools and Software:

          Proficiency in project management tools and software is important for efficiently managing project workflows, tracking progress, and facilitating communication among team members.

  • Certification in Project Management is a plus:

          While not required, a certification in project management would be a plus, demonstrating your commitment to professional development and mastery of project management principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel:

    A strong command of the MS Office suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is vital. Excel proficiency is essential for preparing and analyzing project data, enabling robust reporting, and facilitating effective communication within the team and with stakeholders. Additionally, proficiency in Word and PowerPoint will enhance your ability to prepare and present comprehensive reports, conduct data analysis, and facilitate seamless communication throughout the project lifecycle.
