We currently have a need for an Infrastructure Project Manager supporting a Global Network Infrastructure environment. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience in leading people and deployments in support of New Site/Site moves, IPT, Network Refreshes and Mergers & Acquisition projects. Global Financial Services, Healthcare or Pharmaceutical experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee corporate relocations, buildouts and upgrades with minimal interruptions to day-to-day business
- Review the layout of floor plans, riser diagrams, schedules, specification notes and details
- Project Manage network refresh projects
- Manage all mergers and acquisition projects
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure moves are completed on-time and within budget
- Create RFP’s and bid packages for Low Voltage Cable Contractors and IT Design Engineers
- Formulate, organize and monitor inter-connected IT projects
- Decide on suitable approaches and objectives in support of projects
- Coordinate cross-project activities
- Lead, train and assist junior IT project managers
- Apply change, risk and resource management
- Assess project performance and aim to maximize ROI
- Resolve projects’ higher scope issues
- Prepare reports and present to Sr. Leadership (IT/SBU)
- Document and drive issues through resolution, escalating as necessary
- Enhance department and organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Skills required:
- Bachelor's degree in BA, BS, MIS or related field
- PMP Certification desirable
- 5 to 10 years’ experience managing mid to large sized IT infrastructure projects
- Experience managing Cisco and network hardware installs and upgrades
- Experience managing Cabling, Circuit, Networks, Servers and Applications projects
- Good overall understanding of technology from a LAN/WAN perspective.
- Ability to read Architectural, IT and MEP drawings
- Proven experience as a Sr. Project Manager (self-starter)
- Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills; Spanish language a plus
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Strong experience in deploying Networks (prefer hands-on experience)
- Strong soft skills – verbal, written, collaboration and team building
- Highly analytical and focused, with keen insight into human behavior and motivational forces
- Problem solver with the initiative to think critically to identify improvement opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to organize and execute on details, while keeping the big picture in sight
- Demonstrated ability to effectively participate in multiple, concurrent projects
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and as a Leader
- MS Office experience including MS Project and Clarity Project Management tool
Physical Demands:
- Regular use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Regular, repetitive movements such as typing, mouse movements, and scrolling. Ability to hear and understand spoken communications, both in person and via remote communication tools (e.g., phone, video conferencing).
- Ability to see and read computer screens and printed documents, as well as adjust focus. This includes prolonged periods of looking at a computer screen.
