What is the role
Monday - Friday 40 hour working week.
You will be working with multiple clients based in Napier. As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering technical support services, including remedial maintenance of infrastructure, LAN and WAN networks, and the implementation of new technologies. This position is well-suited to individuals who excel in dynamic environments, enjoy resolving complex technical issues, and are committed to providing high-quality IT support and infrastructure solutions. The role offers the flexibility of a hybrid working arrangement.

Must be a New Zealand Citizen or hold permanent residency

Must have a New Zealand Driver's License (Full or Restricted)
Desirable Skills:

Networking Expertise: Strong understanding of switching, and a CCNA certification is highly desirable.

Group Policy Objects (GPOs): Experience with GPOs is beneficial, even as we transition more towards cloud-based solutions.

PowerShell Proficiency: Comfortable with PowerShell scripting to some extent.

Firewall Familiarity: Experience with firewalls, ideally FortiGate, Palo Alto, or Linewize.

VoIP Systems: Familiarity with VoIP systems is a plus.

M365 admin, Google admin

Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Fundamentals, or equivalent).
Responsibilities:
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

Provide remote and onsite support for client networks, systems, and installations.

Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.

Escalate unresolved issues according to internal SLA.
System Configuration and Maintenance:
-
Configure and deploy PC, server hardware, and peripheral network equipment.

Plan, schedule, and implement network hardware and software maintenance and upgrades.

Test and ensure the performance and reliability of network equipment.
Client Interaction and Requirements Gathering:

Work with end users to understand technical requirements.

Maintain client environments to optimize performance and reliability.

Ensure the security and privacy of client systems and information.
Documentation and Communication:

Develop and maintain technical procedures and system documentation.

Communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Document daily activities accurately and timely.
Continuous Learning and Project Contribution:

Maintain and develop technical knowledge and skills through self-study and training.

Contribute to client projects as required.

Monitor and review daily logs, creating incident tasks when necessary.
