We currently have a need for a Cisco VoIP Engineer to manage and support an enterprise-level Voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Cisco Unified Communications systems, including CUCM, Unity, UCCX, and Webex. You will play a critical role in maintaining high-availability voice services and ensuring seamless communication across the organization. Global Financial Services, Pharmaceutical or Healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
VOIP System Installation & Configuration:
- Install, configure, and deploy Cisco VOIP solutions (e.g., Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, UCCX etc.).
- Set up VOIP hardware, including Cisco routers, switches, and gateways, to ensure seamless integration.
- Customize and optimize VOIP features based on organizational requirements.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
- Troubleshoot and resolve VOIP-related issues such as call quality, connectivity problems, and system malfunctions.
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure continuous operation of VOIP infrastructure, gateways, and systems.
- Monitor system performance and identify potential issues before they impact end-users.
Support & Training:
- Provide technical support to end-users and assist with resolving issues related to VOIP devices.
- Educate users on how to use VOIP systems effectively.
- Collaborate with IT teams and network engineers to resolve complex network-related issues.
System Upgrades & Documentation:
- Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and new feature implementations.
- Document system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions to improve future support efforts.
- Keep detailed records of equipment, configurations, and upgrades.
Collaboration with IS Teams:
- Work with the network team to ensure that VOIP traffic is properly prioritized across the network.
- Collaborate with other IS teams to integrate VOIP systems with third party systems.
Compliance & Security:
- Ensure that VOIP systems comply with company security policies.
- Stay up to date on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to VOIP systems.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience
EXPERIENCE:
At least 5 years’ experience deploying, configuring, and administering Cisco VoIP solutions
LANGUAGE SKILLS: English
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity Connection, and related voice applications.
- Strong understanding of VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323, MGCP, SCCP).
- Experience configuring Cisco voice gateways.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking fundamentals
- Familiarity with collaboration tools like Cisco Webex and integration with Microsoft Teams.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong customer service skills to provide technical support to users.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regular use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Regular, repetitive movements such as typing, mouse movements, and scrolling. Ability to hear and understand spoken communications, both in person and via remote communication tools (e.g., phone, video conferencing).
- Ability to see and read computer screens and printed documents, as well as adjust focus. This includes prolonged periods of looking at a computer screen.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Onsite at client site in Paramus, NJ 5 days a week. Person must be willing to be vaccinated annually for influenza. Position is contract at one client for 6 months with potential to be converted full time.

Below is the pay range of this position for considered candidates based on qualifications and experience.
Pay Range
$90,000 - $100,000 USD
