SUMMARY: The Sales Development Representative is responsible for supporting business development efforts of outside sales through qualified lead generation and demand generation efforts. These efforts include connecting via phone, email, social media and marketing campaigns, trying to capture information on prospects’ current technology needs and challenges while providing information on New Era’s portfolio of services. The goal is to establish next steps to discuss business solutions/opportunities. The Sales Development Representative is directly responsible for qualifying opportunities that are ready for the Outside Sales team to close. Lead generation/opportunities could come from house accounts, dormant accounts, previous customers or contacts and greenfield introductions. This sales position is a hunter role, spending 90% of the workday on phone, email, and business social networks.
Primary Duties include but not limited to:
- Conduct highly researched and aligned warm/cold calling to prospects on our segmented target market list.
- Follow-up on/qualify inbound marketing leads.
- Seek referrals to articulate the value of New Era’s complete offering.
- Prospect calls and emails for campaign follow-ups and inbound inquiries.
- Achieve monthly and daily goals:
- 50 Highly researched and aligned calls per day to a curated, segmented target market list. The 50 is a basis, meant to go up or down based on the productivity and discussions of the day.
- 20 Meetings per Month (phone and F2F) – Target agenda is established prior to meeting. All information notes post meeting managed within Hubspot CRM.
- 15 Qualified Opportunities per month
- Utilize resources such as LinkedIn, Technology publications, and Industry subscriptions to uncover the appropriate Decision Maker(s).
- Network with New Era strategic partners and pursue white space, unattended, and dormant accounts
- Ability to transfer solid leads to the appropriate sales professional for follow-up and a formal sales presentation.
- Maintain strong relationships with assigned Outside Sales team members through clear communication and follow-up.
- Stay current on industry trends and maintain extensive knowledge of competitor’s product offerings.
- Log and maintain accurate information in Hubspot CRM including but not limited to: calls, meetings, appointments, social media interactions, emails, notes, contact details, opportunity details, and account details.
COMPETENCIES:
- General understanding of Technology services and offerings in a business environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Hubspot CRM
- Understanding of how to leverage LinkedIn and other platforms in social selling
- Exceptional organizational skills and high energy
- Must be able to ask probing questions and gather information/research
- Must be ambitious, persistent, and consistent
- Ability to focus on a goal and achieve that goal
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- BS in Sales, Business Administration, or relevant field preferred
- Proven work experience in business operations, sales operations, or inside sales
- One year of B2B sales experience prospecting
- Proven strong analytical and organizational skills
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to communicate effectively in English through written and verbal channels.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regular use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Regular, repetitive movements such as typing, mouse movements, and scrolling. Ability to hear and understand spoken communications, both in person and via remote communication tools (e.g., phone, video conferencing).
- Ability to see and read computer screens and printed documents, as well as adjust focus. This includes prolonged periods of looking at a computer screen.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Hybrid
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: Standard business hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm.
TRAVEL: Occasional travel driven by market requirements.

Below is the pay range of this position for considered candidates based on qualifications and experience.
Pay Range
$65,000 - $70,000 USD
