We currently have a need for a Network Engineer to perform Cisco switch upgrades in IDF's across downtown campus. Candidate should have good background in network refresh projects with ability to configure and rack and stack layer 2 switches. Global Financial Services, Healthcare or Pharmaceutical experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Install, upgrade and configure Cisco network hardware in IDF’s and MDF’s
- Implement and deploy scalable solutions for both global networks and data centers
- Engineer for network escalations for troubleshooting of incidents
- Optimizing the monitoring and operation procedures and keeping up-to-date the associated procedural documents
- Propose technical advice on the solutions implemented and technical reports
- Involved in the changes, responsible for the versioning follow-up
- Reporting of incidents and ticketing
- Identify, research, evaluate and implement emerging network technologies
Skills required:
- 5+ years' experience with enterprise-level network deployment and implementation
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical discipline
- Proficient with the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and monitoring of core LAN/WAN/MAN services
- Proficient in routing protocols: TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, HSRP/GLBP, VRF, Multicast, IP CEF
- Mastery of advanced performance tuning and capacity management concepts
- Through understanding of IP concepts including routing, VLAN's, QoS, tuning and capacity management concepts
- Hands on experience racking and stacking network hardware
- Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise-class routers and switches; Cisco and Arista
- Must hold current Cisco CCNA or higher networking certifications
- Must be able to work after hours for network cutovers
Physical Demands:
- Regular use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Regular, repetitive movements such as typing, mouse movements, and scrolling. Ability to hear and understand spoken communications, both in person and via remote communication tools (e.g., phone, video conferencing).
- Ability to see and read computer screens and printed documents, as well as adjust focus. This includes prolonged periods of looking at a computer screen.
Below is the pay range of this position for considered candidates based on qualifications and experience.
Pay Range
$85,000 - $100,000 USD
