The Accounting Manager - Hybrid is responsible for the timely and accurate issuance of the Business Unit financial statements each month, including meeting all business unit and corporate reporting requirements. This position will work closely with Operations to ensure all business activities have been properly reflected in the financial statements, including gross margin reporting. This position will provide support and training, promote team cohesiveness and effectiveness to ensure department goals and objectives are achieved in alignment with the Company’s mission. This position will establish and enforce proper accounting processes and policies. The ideal candidate must have leadership skills and be a detail-oriented, self-motivated, team player with a solid working knowledge of GAAP, full-cycle business processes, and internal controls. The candidate is required to have a flexible learning style and take on new things rapidly. 

Please note, this position is a flexible hybrid position.  The expectation is that the Accounting Manager will work 2 days a week in the Plymouth, MN office. 

PRIMARY DUTIES include but not limited to:   

  • Work closely with Operations and Sales leadership to ensure transactions are properly captured in the financial statement. 
  • Work closely with ESG Division Controller and FP&A Director to provide needed reporting and analysis. 
  • Review key contracts and large projects to ensure familiarity with obligations. 
  • Supervise staff and workload ensuring productivity is maintained, accuracy of the financial close process for multiple entities, and that closings adhere to company deadlines and US GAAP. 
  • Oversee financial cut-offs for revenue recognition, cash, AP, AR, inventory, and fixed assets. 
  • Analyze and review monthly journal entries, activity in balance sheet accounts, and monthly financial statements.  
  • Publish financial statements and gross margin reporting timely. 
  • Review monthly reconciliations of balance sheet and P&L accounts. 
  • Establish and enforce accounting policies and procedures. 
  • Monitor the control environment to ensure compliance. 
  • Coordinate and assist with the preparation of various international, state, and local statutory/regulatory and tax filings. 
  • Identify areas for process improvements and automation. 
  • Prepare audit schedules, conduct audit research, and act as liaison for external auditors. 
  • Assist with Ad hoc requests as necessary.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains or any other ERP system.  
  • Experience leading a team of finance professionals including reviewing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.  
  • Experience working in a multi-entity company with $100M+ in revenue preferred. 
  • Experience with global operations and foreign currency. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of percentage of completion accounting.

QUALIFICATIONS:    

  • 7+ years of proven experience in accounting and/or audit roles required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Pivot Tables (Advanced skills are required).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP required. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or other business discipline. 
  • Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA) preferred. 

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: 8-hour shift with some extended hours. Monday to Friday .

TRAVEL: Occasional travel may be required. 

SALARY: $100,000 - $120,000 depending upon experience.
