Job Title: Manager – Data Architect
Location: Mercu Tower 3, KL Eco City, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Employment Type: Permanent (Onsite at Client Location)

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Manager – Data Architect to design, build, and lead scalable enterprise data platforms. This role combines hands-on architecture, technical leadership, and stakeholder collaboration to enable analytics, BI, and real-time data use cases across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain enterprise-scale data and application architectures
• Build and optimize real-time and batch data platforms for analytics and BI
• Define data engineering standards, best practices, and governance
• Lead proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives for new tools and technologies
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and data teams
• Guide and mentor data engineers; provide technical leadership
• Ensure documentation, security, performance, and cost optimization

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Platform roles
• 3+ years in a lead or managerial role
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise data architectures
• Strong background in data warehouse modeling and BI/Analytics
• Experience in Insurance or Financial Services (BFSI) is highly preferred

Technical Skills:

• Databricks (Delta Lake, DLT), Apache Spark
• Real-time streaming: Kafka / Confluent Cloud
• Programming: Python, Java/J2EE, and/or .NET (C#)
• Cloud: Azure (preferred), AWS
• APIs: REST APIs, Swagger, Postman; API management tools (Kong, MuleSoft)
• Knowledge of data security best practices
