Product Realization Associate
Responsibilities
- Cleaning and maintaining most tools and facilities within the Product Realization Shops including: woodshop, metal shop, electronics lab, spray booth, casting room, digifab lab, machine shop and textiles lab.
- Keeping track of the state of hand tools, replacing/tracking down missing ones as necessary
- Being aware of shop users, their needs and projects, and working with them and staff to ensure proper use of tools and cleanliness
- Keeping and tracking a maintenance log in digital systems (Airtable)
- Tracking part replacements and tool repairs
- Tracking the state of the fume and dust extractors and vacuums. Replacing filters and vacuum bags as necessary.
- Awareness of all the facilities and the tools within them. Awareness of members' use of the space.
- Working with other Product Realization staff to design, build, and implement things which upgrade the ergonomics of the facilities (i.e. workbenches, cubbies, displays/holders for tools)
Qualifications and Skills
Requirements
- Work History
- At least 1 year experience maintaining and servicing tools and equipment including:
- Ability to follow maintenance schedules and keep accurate records
- Ability to follow along with instruction manuals and exploded view drawings
- Ability to coordinating with technicians & vendors remotely
- Experience with physical prototyping, digital design, design for manufacturing, or other production related processes.
- Familiarity with the best applications and safety concerns of a wide range of prototyping materials, including: plastics, metals, engineered and solid woods, textiles, finishes.
- Experience maintaining an inventory of consumables, parts and tooling

Compensation Level: Associate
- $20-24/hour
