Global Head of Advisory Services
We are seeking a Global Head of Advisory Services to join our team in Brooklyn. This position is an important part of Newlab’s venture platform is its commercialization projects, where Newlab works with industry and government clients to identify where Newlab’s advisory services can support their innovation needs. The Global Head of Advisory Services will lead the global delivery practice, including strategy development, client relationship management, business development, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services across all international markets. Reporting to the Chief Commercial and Operating Officer, they will be responsible for working with the Managing Directors of Newlab locations to manage key relationships and ensure the delivery of projects across regions, and ensure profitability across engagements. The ideal candidate will be experienced in business development, consulting best practices and delivery of high quality work to clients. The candidate will be highly fungible and not only ready to lead, but willing to roll up their sleeves with the team to solve complex project scoping and delivery challenges as needed.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the overall vision and strategy for the global delivery practice, aligning it with the company's location themes and broader strategic goals
- Build and manage strategic partnerships to drive both business development initiatives and ensure successful project execution
- Support the development of sales and revenue metrics and targets for the team and individuals
- Support sales, leveraging network and working with the broader Newlab team to increase bookings and revenue
- Align commercialization offerings with client needs and Newlab's organizational goals
- Lead and manage the delivery function, providing training and guidance as needed
- Ensure project profitability and billing requirements are adhered to
- Effectively manage resourcing amongst team members and projects
- Establish and maintain relationships with key clients to ensure customer satisfaction
- Develop and implement customer service policies and procedures to ensure quality service
- Respond to customer enquiries in a timely and professional manner and be willing to jump in to support projects as necessary
- Track performance metrics and provide regular reports to management
Skills
- Extensive experience in a leadership roles within consulting, managing complex projects across multiple geographies
- Strong expertise in consulting methodologies, business development, and proposal execution across sectors
- Proven ability to build revenue-generating practices and negotiate strategic partnerships
- Ability to act as a trusted advisor and thought leader to senior stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, scale and mentor high-performing, diverse teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients at all levels
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and navigate complex business situations
- Strategic and analytical problem-solving skills to scope, structure and execute complex projects across diverse regions and industries
- Proven ability to manage large budgets and financial performance
- Experience in technology industries such as energy, mining, automotive, mobility, manufacturing, and logistics
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, marketing, or related field
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Technical background and advanced degree in science or engineering a plus
- 10+ years of experience in relationship management with preference to time in a leadership consulting practice role. Minimum 5-7 years experience in leadership role
- Experience working with industry and government clients
- Proven track record of managing customer service teams
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of customer service software and systems
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Compensation base will be between $220,000-260,000 + bonus+ equity
