Description
NewLimit is seeking a Vivarium Technician with experience in rodent husbandry and in vivo technical procedures.
In this role, you will help support vivarium operations, animal husbandry, and in vivo research in collaboration with New Limit’s product teams to test reprogramming medicines in pre-clinical rodent models.
What you’ll do
- Support in vivo experiments by providing high-quality animal care and technical support
- Monitor animal health and welfare and document animal health observations
- Work with our animal husbandry staff and scientists to maintain accurate records of animal procedures and inventory
- Assist in animal diet preparation and formulation
- Perform technical procedures such as compound dosing (PO, IP, SC), blood collection (tail, cheek, cardiac), anesthesia and euthanasia, and necropsy / tissue collection
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S) in animal or life sciences field preferred
- Minimum of one year experience in a rodent laboratory
- Proficiency in animal handling, husbandry, and technical procedures for rodent models
- Experience maintaining detailed records in lab notebooks
Nice to have
- Experience working with mouse models of liver dysfunction, vascular disease, and/or inflammation
- Experience with rodent survival surgeries
- Downstream tissue collection and processing
- Molecular biology (PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis) experience
