Your opportunity
At New Relic, Product Managers are leaders with vision, strategic thinking, customer obsession, a bias for action, and a passion for driving decisions with data. As a Senior Product Manager for APM Core Experiences, you'll join a passionate team focused on shaping the future of our flagship APM offering—a recognized market leader.
In this highly visible and strategic role, you will own the product strategy and execution for key areas of our APM product. You'll be responsible for balancing the needs of a mature, business-critical product with the drive for bold innovation that solves the challenges of modern, multi-service architectures. What you’ll do
- Own the vision and strategy for key areas of the New Relic APM product portfolio, translating it into a clear, prioritized roadmap.
- Become a subject matter expert on the APM market, our customers' needs, and competitive trends to identify new opportunities and guide your strategy.
- Build cutting edge APM solutions that leverage AI/ML, public cloud and security advancements, maintaining APM’s competitive edge as customer needs grow and evolve.
- Partner closely with design, engineering, marketing, support, and sales teams to deliver end-to-end value for our users and ensure successful go-to-market launches.
- Engage directly with customers to conduct research, validate requirements, and ensure the solutions you build are delightful and solve real-world problems.
- Build a data-informed roadmap, defining, analyzing, and reporting on product metrics to meet your objectives and drive business outcomes.
- Communicate your strategy and roadmap effectively to stakeholders and leadership, bringing clarity to complex situations and driving alignment.
- Challenge the status quo and drive outcomes, championing new ideas and innovations that will keep our product ahead of the market.
This role requires
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; a background in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience building and launching technical products as a Product Manager.
- A proven ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data and use it to build delightful, high-impact capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to bring clarity and alignment in ambiguous situations.
- A deep sense of customer empathy and experience identifying customer requirements and shipping engaging experiences.
- A strong bias for action and the ability to operate with autonomy, proactively identifying and resolving challenges.
Bonus points if you have
- Direct experience with observability products/tools, especially in the APM space.
- Prior SaaS product experience with a developer persona.
- Experience with enterprise B2B products.
- Familiarity with Generative AI and/or public cloud infrastructure services (AWS / Azure / GCP).
Success in Your First 12 Months
- Within 6 months, you will have delivered a comprehensive 1-year product vision for your area, complete with a detailed competitive analysis that demonstrates a deep understanding of the market. You will have cultivated strong relationships with 10+ of our top APM customers and their account teams, becoming a trusted advisor on their needs and use cases.
- Within 12 months, you will have successfully managed a significant product or feature launch from ideation to General Availability (GA), demonstrating your ability to execute and drive impact. You will be a key driver and champion for the team's long-term, 3-year vision, ensuring your roadmap and execution align with that future state.
