Your Opportunity
We are seeking a Director of Strategic Sourcing, Procurement and Travel to lead the enterprise-wide Vendor Management Office. This serves as a senior leadership role driving high-impact RFx initiatives, complex commercial negotiations, and supplier performance, while driving transformation, governance, and long-term value creation across the business.
You'll provide internal client support, handle interaction between stakeholders and suppliers for strategic sourcing purchase requests, and contract management acting as the liaison to assigned lines of business through the VMO. We need a cross-functional experienced professional with the ability to see and link the pieces of the big picture together across functions to help our business grow and thrive.
This role will be responsible for handling vendor relationships, empowered to negotiate strategic contracts, and supporting New Relic spend. The ideal candidate will view vendors from a life cycle perspective with a focus on reduced cost, increased customer happiness, and greater business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive business relationships with suppliers as well as key stakeholders and budget owners and collaborate with internal customer/category groups in a personable, approachable manner
- Sponsor and lead high-complexity, mission-critical RFx initiatives
- Lead and support complex commercial negotiations across software, SaaS, cloud, hardware, and professional services
- Own and strengthen critical supplier relationships, resolving issues and driving continuous improvement.
- Lead the Travel and Expense function for the company
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies, procurement & travel policies, and governance across all spend categories
- Partner closely with Legal, Security, Finance, and Technology leaders to align on cross-functional goals
- Drive cost optimization, market benchmarking, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis
- Lead organizational change and strategic procurement programs aligned to business objectives.
- Manage departmental budget and define performance metrics and evaluation criteria
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing, distributed procurement teams
- Provide executive-level communication, guidance, and reporting on procurement objectives and outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor/Master’s Degree business, information systems, or related field and 10+ years of direct experience in a strategic sourcing management role.
- 5+ years of experience leading a team
- 10+ years of experience negotiating commercial contracts, preparing and redlining in word, for software and hardware licenses, professional services agreements, statements of work, SaaS, Cloud Subscriptions, and amendments to existing contracts.
- 10+ years of direct experience in a lead / principal role.
- Experience leading Travel and Expense function Globally
- Ability to build contract price modelling using a fact-based data driven approach in Excel to provide sourcing recommendations.
- Experience with procurement software (i.e. Coupa, NetSuite, Oracle and JIRA).
- Experience formulating methods to develop and analyze various category portfolios, including market price benchmarking and total cost ownership (TCO) analysis.
- Keen ability to proactively identify/propose cost reductions and continuous supplier performance improvement opportunities
- Experience Building and developing high performance Global teams with a focus on learning and career growth.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

The pay range below represents a reasonable estimate of the salary for the listed position. This role is eligible for a corporate bonus plan. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related factors such as an applicant’s skills, qualifications, and experience.

Estimated Base Pay Range
$165,000 - $211,000 USD
