Software Engineer - React/Typescript
We are a global team of innovators and pioneers dedicated to shaping the future of observability. At New Relic, we build an intelligent platform that empowers companies to thrive in an AI-first world by giving them unparalleled insight into their complex systems. As we continue to expand our global footprint, we're looking for passionate people to join our mission. If you're ready to help the world's best companies optimize their digital applications, we invite you to explore a career with us!
Your opportunity
The Monetization team builds the experiences that give New Relic customers control over their usage and confidence in their spend. We own two critical customer-facing areas: usage governance tools — including configurable compute budgets, breach notifications, and hard consumption limits — and the unified preview and feature access flows that help customers discover and adopt new New Relic capabilities.
You'll contribute to both areas, working in a React/TypeScript codebase alongside experienced engineers who will support your growth. You'll ship features that directly impact how thousands of customers understand and manage their investment in New Relic. The team also owns a small set of Node.js backend services that support our experiences — this work comes up occasionally and is a good opportunity to build full-stack context, though it's not the core of the role.
What you'll do
- Build product features: Implement UI features across our usage and feature access experiences, from design handoff through production release.
- Write quality code: Contribute well-tested, readable code and participate actively in code review as both an author and reviewer.
- Operate what you ship: Monitor your work in production, respond to alerts, and participate in the team's on-call rotation.
- Collaborate across disciplines: Work closely with Product, Design, and senior engineers to translate customer needs into reliable, well-crafted experiences.
- Grow your craft: Take on increasingly complex problems with guidance and contribute to team discussions on approach and tradeoffs.
This role requires
- 1–2 years of professional software engineering experience
- Hands-on experience with React and TypeScript in a production codebase
- Ability to work effectively within a large-scale existing codebase
- Comfort with iterative, agile delivery
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of production reliability
Bonus points if you have
- Experience with component libraries or design systems
- Familiarity with GraphQL for data fetching
- Familiarity with New Relic or similar observability tools
- Basic experience with Node.js or backend service development
