Job Responsibilities
- Report directly to the General Counsel and serve as a core member of the legal operations function, supporting a growing in-house legal team.
- Own and enforce legal systems and workflows, with the primary goal of removing lawyers from routine contract execution and ensuring consistent, scalable processes.
- Own and manage the contracts lifecycle through the company’s CLM system, including intake, workflow routing, execution, storage, and reporting.
- Design, administer, and enforce self-service workflows for standard agreements, and clearly defined escalation paths for non-standard requests.
- Support the legal team in scaling contract processes by administering standard templates, playbooks, and exception workflows, ensuring that only defined exceptions are escalated to attorneys.
- Act as the primary administrator for legal tools and systems (e.g., CLM, e-signature, document management), including configuration, workflow logic, user adoption, and data integrity.
- Build and maintain compliance intake and gating mechanisms for new products, features, and data uses, ensuring appropriate legal review is triggered at the right time. (Note: this role does not provide legal or compliance advice.)
- Assist with corporate governance and entity maintenance, including organization of records and support for board-related documentation.
- Coordinate with outside counsel (including IP and litigation counsel) on administrative matters, billing, and document management.
- Partner with legal team members to design, document and continuously improve legal infrastructure, including policies, processes, and internal guidelines.
- Own reporting and metrics for the legal team, such as contract turnaround times, exception rates, intake volume, and system adoption
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business teams to improve legal workflows and reduce friction.
Requirements:
- 2–5+ years of experience in a legal operations, paralegal, or similar role in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Demonstrated experience administering legal systems or workflows (CLM strongly preferred).
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to operate independently, apply playbooks consistently, and enforce defined processes even under time pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable to work with legal and non-legal stakeholders.
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast-changing environment.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with contract lifecycle management platforms (e.g., Ironclad or similar).
- Experience helping build or improve legal processes in a scaling company.
- Exposure to technology or startup environments.
- Familiarity with basic corporate governance, entity management, or IP administrative processes.

Candidates who prefer hands-on contract review, negotiation, or ad-hoc legal problem-solving will not be successful in this role. This role focuses on systems, workflows, and scalability
