Technical Program Manager, Sustaining

The Role
As Nex’s Technical Program Manager for Sustaining, you will own sustaining for Nex Playground during mass production, localize the product for global market access, meet international GTM timelines, bring up new production lines or sites, manage change orders, and improve the quality, reliability, and manufacturability as we scale production globally. You will coordinate across retail, marketing, design, engineering, compliance, supply chain, and ODMs to establish scalable processes, orchestrate dependencies, drive decisions, ensure constant alignment, and keep risks managed.

What You’ll Do
- Manage SKUs, handle changes, localization, compliance, and packaging improvements for domestic and international GTMs.
- Build rapport with stakeholders and vendors. Drive cross‑functional issue triage to resolution across internal teams, ODMs, suppliers, test labs, and retail/platform vendors.
- Lead quality, reliability, and manufacturability improvements. Own quality management framework from FAI, PDI, to FRACAS. Track escape routes and verification of fixes into production.
- Orchestrate complex change management. Lead sustaining builds and change cut‑ins with clear entry/exit criteria, sample plans, and success metrics.
- Plan factory readiness, audits, and ramps. Align capacity, golden samples, test coverage, line bring‑up, and vendor limits to meet holiday-scale volumes.
- Instrument and publish sustaining KPIs, dashboards, and weekly reports.
- Maintain accurate documentation for specifications, test protocols, ECOs, and runbooks to enable fast onboarding and audit.
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in program management in smart / connected / wearable / IoT devices.
- Experience managing ODMs via JDM/ODM engagement models.
- Experience managing SKUs, localization, and packaging.
- Experience with tracking and executing ECOs.
- Experience with safety and compliance strategies and working with testing labs.
- Proficiency with project management tools and documentation.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to drive results in complex environments across functional teams.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin.
Nice To Have
- Proficiency with DOE, FMEAs, SPC, FRACAS, and Ishikawa (fishbone) methods.
- Solid understanding of EE, ME, CMF, DFx, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with Android/AOSP devices, video conferencing systems, or gaming consoles.
- Experience with camera modules, image sensors, and optics.
- Experience with WiFi/BT modules and accessories.
Work Mode, Travel, and Time zones
- Location: Hong Kong or Remote
- Travel: International travel to factories and labs as needed
- Timezone: Will collaborate across timezones with defined overlap windows
