The Role

As Director / Senior Director of Hardware Product Engineering, you will own the end‑to‑end success of our core living‑room hardware product, shaping the hardware that enables a new category of active play experiences for families and kids. You will partner closely with Product Design from early concept through product development, as well as Manufacturing and Sourcing, to deliver high‑quality, safe, and innovative consumer electronics at scale. As part of a fast‑growing, category‑defining company, you will lead a hardware product engineering organization and guide the product’s technical evolution through rigorous engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Product, Technology & Customer Impact

  • Serve as the single accountable owner of the core living‑room hardware product
  • Partner deeply with Product Design during early concept and product development to translate customer needs and design intent into feasible, scalable hardware solutions
  • Drive hardware innovation and R&D
  • Lead architecture, platform, and key technology decisions

Product Delivery, Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Own the product across its full lifecycle, from concept through long‑term use in consumer homes
  • Deliver the product to commitments on scope, timing, performance, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Drive regulatory compliance and localization to support international expansion
  • Lead field issue investigation, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions to continuously improve quality and safety

Organization & Cross‑Functional Leadership

  • Build and lead a high‑performing Hardware Product Engineering organization capable of scaling products rapidly to global markets
  • Partner closely with Software, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Commercial teams to enable high‑volume production and global market access
  • Develop technical leaders and operating mechanisms that support consistent, high‑quality execution
  • Delivering results through ODM/JDM models while building strategic in-house capabilities

Must Have

  • Significant experience delivering consumer electronics, preferably living‑room or home entertainment devices
  • Strong background in embedded systems and hardware‑software integration
  • Track record delivering reliable, high‑quality consumer devices at scale
  • Experience leading engineering or product engineering teams in high‑growth environments
  • Strong collaboration experience with product design, manufacturing, and sourcing
  • Proven experience managing ODM/JDM partnerships
  • Excellent spoken English and Mandarin

Nice to Have

  • Experience with TV‑connected, gaming, or home entertainment hardware platforms
  • Experience with Android‑based consumer devices
  • Experience with camera systems
  • Experience building products for kids or families
