The Role
At Nex, we move fast. This role upstream sourcing strategy and execution for critical ICs/memory (e.g., SoC, camera modules, memory). Partner with principals to secure design/development support, allocation, pricing, and Nex-preferred contracts. Ensure cost competitiveness, supply continuity, and resilience as we scale Playground hardware globally.At Nex, we move fast. Partner with principals to secure design/development support, allocation, pricing, and Nex-preferred contracts. Ensure cost competitiveness, supply continuity, and resilience as we scale Playground hardware globally.
What You'll Do
- Upstream Partnerships, Pricing & Forecasting
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships for assigned commodities.
- Drive pricing strategy, negotiations, and locked-in commercial terms (cost models, should-cost, allocation guarantees).
- Establish forecasting cadence with internal stakeholders and suppliers; translate demand signals into supply plans.
- Drive alignment on lead times, MOQs, allocation strategy, and upside planning.
- Supply Resilience & AVL Management
- Build and maintain an Approved Vendor List (AVL) for critical components.
- Plan and execute dual-sourcing / second-source qualification, including risk assessments and readiness gates.
- Identify critical point-of-failure risks and implement mitigation plans (supply, capacity, geopolitical, and quality risks).
- Core Component Strategy (SoC/Camera/Memory)
- Shape commodity strategy and supplier selection recommendations for core technologies (e.g., SoC, camera, memory).
- Collaborate with engineering and quality on supplier capability assessment, qualification planning, and change control.
- Track roadmaps and ensure sourcing decisions support product performance, cost, and schedule.
- Allocation & Execution
- Secure priority allocation during shortages; manage lead times and supply ramps.
- Track supplier KPIs (OTD, yield, quality); drive continuous cost/efficiency improvements.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business (Master's preferred).
- 7–10+ years sourcing/supplier management in consumer electronics/hardware; IC/memory/SoC experience essential.
- Proven commercial negotiation, cost analysis, and multi-sourcing track record.
- Cross-functional collaboration with engineering/operations in fast-paced settings.
