Security Engineering Tech Lead

What You’ll Do: 

  • Lead and Mentor: Provide technical security direction and mentorship to security engineers, promoting knowledge sharing, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Hands-On Engineering: Design, build, and maintain scalable security controls and automations within cloud infrastructure and application environments.
  • Cloud Security expert - be the focal point for all related cloud security topics.
  • Architecture and Design: Partner with engineering and platform teams to secure infrastructure, services, and developer workflows.
  • Security by Design: Drive integration of security practices into CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and service deployment processes.
  • Automation and Scalability: Guide and develop self-service capabilities that allow teams to securely operate at scale.
  • Technical Reviews: Lead security design and code reviews for cloud architectures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and implement new security practices, frameworks, and controls aligned with NEXT’s security standards.

 

What We Need: 

  • 7+ years of experience in security engineering, cloud security, or related fields, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership or mentorship capacity.
  • Proven experience with cloud environments (preferably AWS) and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes security, identity and access management, and network security fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience integrating security into CI/CD and developer workflows.
  • Deep understanding of securing distributed systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills (Hebrew and English)- able to simplify complex problems, influence cross-functional teams, and mentor engineers at different levels.

 

Preferred
  • Experience securing AI environments
  • Experience leading or contributing to DevSecOps or security automation initiatives.
  • Background in infrastructure security reviews, threat modeling, and secure design practices.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, or similar).
