ERGO NEXT is building the only technology-led, full-stack insurance provider for small businesses — and cloud security is core to how we protect the hundreds of thousands of customers who trust us with their coverage.
We're looking for a senior Cloud Security Engineer to own key parts of our AWS and Kubernetes security posture — from IAM and network controls to runtime protection — and to help build the automated guardrails that let our product teams ship fast without sacrificing security.
What you'll do
- Build and improve security capabilities across our AWS and Kubernetes environments.
- Develop automation, guardrails, and controls that help engineering teams operate securely at scale.
- Own and operate security tools and services, including their integrations, monitoring, and ongoing improvements.
- Identify security gaps and turn them into practical engineering solutions.
- Embed security controls into CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and engineering workflows.
- Investigate and help resolve cloud and application security issues.
- Partner with Platform Engineering and product teams on secure architecture and implementation.
- Improve security visibility, monitoring, and detection across our environment.
- Contribute to security initiatives across cloud, product, workforce, and emerging technologies such as AI.
What you'll bring
- Strong hands-on experience in security engineering or cloud security.
- Practical experience with AWS, including IAM, networking, logging, and cloud-native services.
- Good understanding of Kubernetes, containers, and modern cloud-native architectures.
- Hands-on experience with AI/LLM security, AI-assisted development environments, or agentic systems, including an understanding of their emerging security risks and controls.
- Experience working with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD environments such as Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
- Solid understanding of networking and core security principles.
- Ability to investigate technical problems, understand the underlying risk, and build practical solutions.
- A strong ownership mindset and willingness to continuously learn and develop as a security professional.
Nice to have
- Experience with CSPM, CNAPP, or cloud runtime security platforms such as Wiz.
- Experience with Python, Go, or other scripting languages.
- Experience with application security or secure software development.
