Privacy Paralegal

Overview /Objective:

The NFL Privacy Office is looking to fill a Privacy Paralegal role (Coordinator level). Reporting to Senior Privacy Manager within the Legal Department, this role will be supporting the operation of an enhanced data privacy program across the League. This will include working closely with the Data Management, Marketing, Analytics and other business partners and technology teams, as well as representatives of all member Clubs to ensure a consistent approach to data privacy throughout our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and compile and organize informational reports and presentations.
  • Assist with the preparation of contracts, amendments, releases, and schedules using established templates.
  • Maintain the privacy document repository including ensuring those policies are up to date and in-line with the current regulatory/compliance requirements.
  • Build a knowledge of applicable federal, state, and relevant international privacy laws and accreditation standards.
  • Coordinate, review, and prepare briefing materials, presentations, and correspondences with both internal and external parties.
  • Work closely and maintain a professional relationship with multiple business units.
  • Support legal department processes including our contract and invoice management tools.
  • Assist with response to third party vendor assessment requests.
  • Assess stakeholder compliance with specific privacy requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain processes for responding to privacy specific fan outreach.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a paralegal in a data privacy context.
  • Degree from an accredited 4-Year College or University
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience working in data privacy
  • Previous experience in a compliance, audit, or legal context a plus
  • CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT or other privacy certifications from the IAPP or similar organization
  • Proficient in the use of OneTrust with Professional or Expert certifications
  • Professional or academic experience with information security, data analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI)

  • The ability to collaborate across functions and regions.

Travel:

  • Occasional travel may be required, less than 5%.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week. 
  • FLSA NON-EXEMPT

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

 

Salary

$29 - $41 USD
