Player Relations Associate - Player Services (External Agency Staff)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

The Player Relations Associate will assist the Director, Player Relations in building a strong partnership with both players and Legends through an environment of trust, care, and fairness. In addition, he/she will play a significant role in the overall management of the NFL Legends Community from a logistical standpoint and will assist in the execution of marketing initiatives.  

Responsibilities

NFL Legends Community 

  • Manage the administration of logistics for the NFL Legends Community  
  • Legends Community Database management 
    • Work with third party vendor to track and monitor new members/sign ups 
    • Provide information to Legends Directors/Coordinators to make outreach to new potential members 
    • Assist with registering new members 
    • Overall maintenance of the database  
    • Provide database updates to club contacts as requested  
  • Facilitate communications and manage execution of any programs available to Legends 
    • Management of the NFL Legends Community Fantasy League 
    • Distribution of any perks or benefits (i.e., DirecTV, NFL Game Pass, etc.)  
    • Liaison with the Hall of Fame, NFL ticketing and the 32 clubs to manage the Hall of Fame Game Pass program  
  • Assist in the management of the Legends Coaches Network and mentor opportunities 
    • Provide support at events to aid in development of coaches (e.g., Coaches Clinic) 
    • Manage logistics for all NFL Legends mentor opportunities (International Player Pathway, EWSB, Senior Bowl, NFL Combine, etc.) 
    • Maintenance of the Coaches Portal 
  • Manage any logistics tied to Legends Community committees and networks  
    • Assist in the development and launch of the Legends Community Media Network  
    • Manage any coordination tied to committee meetings (invites, agendas, notes, etc.) 
    • Assist in the execution and programming for the Legends Youth Advisory Committee 

Player Marketing Support 

  • Assist with logistics for NFL Legends and current players participating in NFL events 
  • Provide operational on-site support at all live events  
  • Assist with appearance logistics for all tent pole events  
  • Create look books for each live event 
  • Manage the charity request process  
  • Manage the player visit opportunity and process for the NY and LA office  
    • Creation and management of a calendar to track visits  
    • Create an overall offer/package for the interested players/Legends  
    • Management of logistics tied to the player’s visit (travel, agenda, etc.) 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree  
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience  
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills     
  • Experience working in the sports industry and/or client management preferred  

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience working in the sports marketing industry   
  • Prior experience in client management preferred   
  • General knowledge of football and NFL players/teams

  • Effective interpersonal skills that enable one to communicate and work across the organization and with outside parties

Physical Demands

  • This position may require standing for long periods of time and heavy lifting while on-site at NFL events  

Travel

  • This position will require travel 30% of the year including all major NFL events  

Terms / Expected Hours of Work 

This position is required to work 40 hours per week, and may require work on select weekends and holidays 

This job posting is for a position with one of the NFL’s third-party agency partners that provides services to the NFL. The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency. The assignment to provide services to the NFL will be limited in duration but may be extended for an additional period by agreement between the NFL and the agency. 

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range. 

Salary

$28 - $28 USD
