Player Relations Associate - Player Marketing (External Agency Staff)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

The Player Relations Associate will assist the Manager, Player Relations and the Sr. Director, Player Relations in building a strong partnership with the entire football community with a focus on marketing and branding opportunities for both players and Legends. The associate will also play a pivotal role in the player procurement process and execution of all player appearances for the League.    

Responsibilities 

  • Player procurement and appearance management  
    • Management of all player contracts for 1,000+ annual appearances  
    • Liaison between NFL Legal, Finance, players and marketing reps for any contract edits   
    • Collaborate with all internal NFL departments that book players to ensure the best players are selected and all contractual elements are executed correctly  
    • Management of all appearance tracking documents and reporting including department metrics and fee trackers  
    • Management of the new Player Procurement System including liaising with NFL IT   
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders that support the player partnership  
    • Act as the point of contact for the NFLPA Player Services team as it relates to player appearance contracts and creative approvals  
    • Management of the quarterly NFL Agents Meeting which disseminates pertinent detail to key marketing representatives   
    • Represent the Player Relations team in internal meetings that include player involvement in events or activations  
  • Assist with all player brand building and marketing opportunities  
    • Assist with league wide NFL marketing initiatives that effect the larger player population including My Cause My Cleats and the NFL Heritage Program   
    • Collaborate with the Player Communications and Marketing team on content opportunities involving players or Legends  
    • Management of the Player Office Visit program for all players and Legends  
    • Manage the process for all group licensing creative approvals across the League to ensure guidelines are followed and player rights are protected  
    • Review, track, and route all print, video, online promotions, enhancements and vignettes featuring active NFL players to the NFLPA for necessary approvals 
  • Support the overall player experience and event activation  
    • Manage the logistics tied to executing player appearances or activations and any support staff or vendors (i.e., Carey Cars, rotational staff, AMEX, etc.)  
    • Management of specific groups at tent pole events to ensure they receive a best-in-class experience (i.e. Pro Bowl Roster, NFL Draft Prospects, WPMOY at Super Bowl, etc.)  
    • Provides overall support to NFL Legends Community as needed 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree  
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills     
  • Experience working in the sports industry and/or client management preferred

Physical Demands 

  • This position may require standing for long periods of time and heavy lifting at NFL events  

Travel 

  • This position will require travel 40% of the year including all major NFL events, select player appearances and commercial shoots  

Terms / Expected Hours of Work 

This position is required to work 40 hours per week, and may require work on select weekends and holidays 

This job posting is for a position with one of the NFL’s third-party agency partners that provides services to the NFL. The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency. The assignment to provide services to the NFL will be limited in duration but may be extended for an additional period by agreement between the NFL and the agency. 

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range. 

Salary

$28 - $28 USD
