Manager, NFL Media Strategy & Business Development
The NFL Media Distribution team works closely with NFL leadership to determine the strategy behind the deployment of key media rights. This team executes partnerships across a range of business models and structures, with a focus on live game distribution and related licensing. This team also contributes to the strategic direction of the NFL’s owned and operated media assets (e.g., the NFL App) and leads cross-functional planning and strategic efforts on special projects for NFL Media executives. Specific activities include execution and partnership management, market and competitive analysis, business and rights valuation, and go-to-market strategy and deal negotiation. The department’s activities and accomplishments have contributed to the growth and success of the National Football League by distributing content in a manner that reaches and engages both new and existing fans, increases revenue for the business, and creates long-term strategic value for the 32-member clubs.
This person will assist in managing a portfolio of existing partnerships as well as help identify and pursue new NFL content distribution opportunities. This role requires a strong self-starter who can combine a solid understanding and interest in the media space with a comprehensive foundation in business analysis.
Responsibilities include leading regular communication with external and internal business partners (day-to-day project and product management), producing financial models and presentations for executives and external partners, working closely with Legal to develop new legal contracts, and thoughtfully managing internal stakeholders and processes (seeking internal feedback, escalating issues, proposing recommendations, etc.). This role works closely with many departments across the NFL’s New York, New Jersey, and Los Angeles offices including Broadcasting, Business Development Operations, Sponsorship, Affiliate, Media Sales, Legal, Marketing, and NFL Digital Media Product & Engineering teams.
Job Functions:
- Take a meaningful role in all aspects of NFL media partnerships, from working on large-scale active partnerships to proactively identifying potential new business partners
- Assess and analyze critical media and sports trends
- Oversee day-to-day activity with current partners to ensure contractual obligations are met and all parties and relationships are mutually successful
- Conduct financial analyses and proposals for new business opportunities
- Collaborate with senior executives and relevant internal stakeholders to develop new contracts and deals
- Communicate market and deal updates to senior executives and team ownership
- Create and participate in strategic presentations to senior executives inside and outside the organization
- Contribute to positive group culture to foster high performance, efficient processes and professional development
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail, especially when multi-tasking across various projects in a fast-paced environment; expected to execute tasks with minimal error and with a high level of efficiency
- Deep interest and enthusiasm in media, technology, and sports industries
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate details to senior management
- Strong, confident personal style that can persuade and motivate others to accomplish corporate goals while holding team members accountable to a high standard of performance
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to efficiently produce written materials and analysis in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Required Education and Experience:
- 4-year degree
- at least 4 years of experience, ideally in media, consulting, or financial services
Salary/Pay Range:

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
Salary
$90,000 - $120,000 USD
