Director of PMO

The Director of PMO is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the Project Management Office (PMO) within the Information Technology Department. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in people management, project and portfolio management, capable of driving organizational change and ensuring that projects align with the company's strategic objectives. The role will report to the VP, IT Strategy and Business Operations while working closely with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and key results aligned with enterprise-wide initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor staff members, share knowledge of best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project priorities and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment and support for initiatives.
  • Oversee the portfolio of projects, supporting prioritization of initiatives based on strategic objectives, risk assessment, and resource availability.
  • Ensure effective resource allocation across projects to optimize efficiency and effectiveness while balancing workload among project teams.
  • Monitor project performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular updates to executive leadership on progress, risks, and issues.
  • Define, drive, and implement the PMO strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop, implement, and govern project management processes, tools, templates, and metrics.
  • Support change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions during project execution, drive the adoption and promote stakeholders’ acceptance.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and education required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management roles.
  • Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience.
  • Expert knowledge of project management methodologies, techniques, and processes.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and portfolios.
  • Strong budget and cost management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to inspire teams and drive results.
  • Adaptable and resourceful when managing changing timelines and multiple deliverables.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder and vendor management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in matrixed environments with the ability to influence without authority.

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • 7+ years of experience in IT
  • 5 years of Management Experience
  • Related certifications (e.g., PMP, SCRUM, PRINCE2, etc.)
  • Experience in sports and entertainment industry a plus

 

Travel:

10% to 15% travel.  

Terms /Expected Hours of Work:

NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week. Indicate whether the role will require overtime (time worked more than 40 hours) and/or weekends. 

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials, or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Salary

$165,000 - $200,000 USD
