Broadcast Engineer
Summary
We are seeking a Broadcast Engineer specializing in communication, documentation, transmission, and workflow to join our Broadcast Engineering team at our West Coast Headquarters in Inglewood, CA. This facility leverages ST-2110 infrastructure, requiring a candidate with expertise in signal transmission, system documentation, and broadcast workflows within a live production environment.
Responsibilities
- Have full understanding of technical facility, and complex broadcast video/audio and IT type production equipment and systems.
- Ability to rapidly diagnose video system and IT problems, and provide alternative solutions if needed to maintain production deadlines.
- Ability to comprehend and troubleshoot complex concepts and workflows.
- Participate and contribute to the design, development and deployment of complex broadcast video/audio and IT type production equipment and systems.
- Participate and contribute to the training and ongoing education of Production personnel in the operation of complex broadcast video/audio and IT type production equipment and systems.
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment for installation/maintenance when required.

Required Qualifications
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
- Ability to work under pressure during live events.
- Good communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Strong understanding of broadcast standards, digital signal processing, and network technologies.
- Experience with broadcast-specific software and hardware from manufacturers including:
- Adobe
- Arista
- Cobalt
- DNF
- Imagine
- Quantum
- Riedel
- Solid State Logic
- Sony
- VizRT
- VMWare
- ESXi
- Strong knowledge of Apple, Microsoft, and Linux client and server operating systems.
- Knowledge of transcoding systems, high speed file transfer, media asset management, and graphics software.
- Knowledge of high-performance SAN and NAS storage systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Visio and other concept and documentation applications.
- Knowledge of Industry standard data security best practices, i.e. ISO 27001.
- Knowledge of SNMP, log, and network monitoring software.
- Knowledge in fiber standards; single mode, multimode, LC, SC, ST, UPC, APC interfaces.
- Ability to work with fiber infrastructure/patching/documentation.
- Ability to monitor and maintain power distribution systems to ensure continuous operation of broadcasting equipment, including managing UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies) and backup generators.
- Basic oversight of HVAC systems to maintain optimal temperature and humidity conditions for equipment performance, ensuring preventive maintenance schedules are adhered to.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 + years of experience in related field.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work
- NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week.
- This a 24/7 broadcast facility position, so shifts can be scheduled on weekend hours and holidays. Candidate must have a flexible schedule and be able to work off-hour shifts when needed.
Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
Salary
$60 - $85 USD
