JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

The Injury Video Review (IVR) Operator will ensure that the Injury Video Review System ("IVRS") is functional on game day and will support the AT Spotters, Booth Unaffiliated Neurotrauma Consultant (UNC) and team medical personnel as it relates to reviewing injury video. On game day, two Injury Video Review Operators will sit in the Injury Video Review Booth on game day (“IVR Booth Operators”). One Booth Operator will be assigned to the home team, and one will be assigned to the visiting team.  Additionally, two IVR Operators will be stationed on the field (“IVR Field Operators”) at the IVR carts (one on the home sideline, and another at the visiting sideline).

Responsibilities

Candidate must be willing and able to fulfill the following obligations:

  • Availability to work all preseason, regular season, and postseason home games
  • Availability to work games that are “flexed.” Flexed means the game is played on the same day as originally scheduled, but the kickoff time is moved earlier or later
  • Arrive at the stadium four (4) hours prior to kickoff
  • Support, distribute and maintain two-way radios for both teams' medical personnel and independent medical personnel
  • Submit game reports through the Game Management System at the conclusion of each game
  • Responsible for accurately reporting working hours in timekeeping system
  • Must notify the League's Player Health and Safety department of any scheduling conflicts at least one (1) week prior to game day
  • All candidates must comply with NFL policies as established in paperwork to follow
  • Must attend periodic video conference meetings and in-person training seminar(s) at the NFL's request

Qualifications

  • Candidate may not be a full-time, part-time, or game day employee of any NFL team
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with game day staff
  • Touch typing skills: minimum 40 words per minute
  • Must be able to work in high-pressure situations
  • Must be able to focus on the task at hand, not the game
  • Must be able to operate the Injury Video Review System
  • Must be able to recognize and record player injuries
  • Must be able to troubleshoot issues on non-game days in some circumstances
  • Must have strong computer technology skills in the following areas (training will be provided):
    • Administrative troubleshooting and maintenance
    • Strong knowledge of all peripheral connectivity
    • Windows 10 proficiency
    • Wi-Fi setup, connectivity, and troubleshooting
    • Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose computer hardware problems
    • Audio equipment (headsets and belt packs)
    • Audio and video path troubleshooting and testing

Physical Demands/Travel

    • The IVR Operator must be available for every home game during the season, including preseason and post season; must be able to sit for long periods of time; must be able to lift equipment boxes/cases weighing up to 30 pounds; and must work well under high pressure.
    • Expected Hours of Work: Approximately 8-9 hours per game (arrive 4 hours before kickoff, leave approximately 45 minutes – 1 hour after end of game)
