JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

This full-time Player Personnel Coordinator position works with the Player Personnel staff to monitor club compliance with the NFL Constitution & Bylaws, the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and other League rules designed to preserve and enhance the competitive aspects and integrity of the game.  Department staff communicate with Club and League office executives, college players and administrators to provide guidance and education about these rules to ensure compliance and promote competitive fairness.

A successful candidate should have knowledge of the League’s member clubs and a career interest in football operations, player personnel/scouting, and/or labor operations/salary cap.  Experience in a college football or compliance office, a professional sports organization’s player personnel department, or with player eligibility rules is preferred.  Candidates should be comfortable creating, communicating, and enforcing League policy.  Candidates must enjoy doing research and working with data. In addition, they must be reliable, organized, detail-oriented, innovative, and have good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with club personnel and other parties regarding League rules.
  • Pro Player responsibilities: Maintain and monitor personal, transactional, and contractual records for all players; prepare daily personnel notice and player personnel memoranda; assist with player contract review and salary cap reconciliation process.  Other responsibilities include researching player eligibility and maintaining player records for international players and players in other professional leagues, including collection of Consent Forms. Assist with the monitoring and compliance of player work rules, including the coordination of the spot-checking program, practice video audit, and education of clubs through training sessions. Coordinate maintenance and administration of the myNFLinfo website that provides players with access to their player records and is the source for player information.
  • College Responsibilities: Verify player eligibility. Administration of the college advisory committee, special eligibility, and designated underclassmen programs.  Monitor college scouting rules, including pro days, private workouts, top 30 visits, video interviews, and college all-star game activities. Assist in the administration of the NFL Player Assessment Test.  Participate in operating the NFL Draft’s Annual Selection Meeting, and Supplemental Draft, if needed. Coordinate the maintenance and administration of the College Relations website, which communicates information between colleges and NFL clubs.
  • Non-Player Personnel responsibilities: Maintain and monitor personal, transactional, and contractual records for all contracted club personnel, including all members of coaching staffs. Coordinate the maintenance and administration of the Football Administration website, which houses personal, transactional, contractual information used to report on hiring trends and related information.  Assists with the administration of the video interview program for prospective general manager and head coach candidates.
  • Committee responsibilities: Assist with the collection and drafting of discussion items, analysis, rule proposals, and reports for Committee use (e.g., Competition Committee, General Managers Committee, Coaches Committee, College Relations Committee, Player Safety Committee, Chief Executive Committee, DEI Committee, Club Services Committee, etc.
  • Administrative responsibilities: Assist with department projects, such as editing and production of the Player Personnel Handbook, Player Personnel Operational Manual, and Training Camp Directory and organizing the department’s files, and managing the document retention plan.  Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting on all the above information. Provide support for other miscellaneous projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited four-year College or University.
  • Prior experience in a college athletics department or a professional sports league or club is preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Key Attributes / Characteristics

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook). Strong experience with Microsoft Co-Pilot, AI, and statistical modeling tools a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities
  • General understanding of NFL Player Personnel rules
  • Familiarity with the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Knowledge of NFL clubs and primary football front office personnel

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range. 

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week.
  • Holiday and weekend work as necessary.

Salary

$70,000 - $75,000 USD
