Officiating Quality Control Coach (Seasonal)

Overview/Objective:

The Officiating Quality Control Coach will ensure and maintain the integrity and consistency of Officiating for the National Football League through an independent grading process. The Quality Control Coach will assist the VP of Officiating in the duties and responsibilities outlined below. This is a seasonal role, employed for seven months each year.

Responsibilities

  • Attend annual NFL officiating clinic and position breakout sessions as continuing education as it relates to new rules and officiating mechanics.
  • Serves as a weekly independent grader and evaluator for NFL Officiating during the Pre-Season, Regular Season, and Post Season.
  • Provide weekly feedback to VP of Officiating from assigned games.
  • Identify in-game missed calls, judgements and plays for corrective adjustments.
  • Capture performance tag plays for further review and offer suggestions for further training and development.
  • Any other duties as requested by the VP of Officiating.

Required Education and Experience:

  • On-field NFL officiating experience.
  • Consistently met high performance standards and serve as an experienced resource.
  • Superior knowledge of NFL rules to ensure messaging as it pertains to rules and regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of on-field mechanics.
  • Computer proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook), Internet and NFL Game Day.

Other Key Attributes / Characteristics:

  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Relationship skills. Proven ability to build strong relationships and establish credibility quickly in key relationships.
  • Have a solid understanding of NFL game day football operations.

Travel:

  • Some travel required.

Salary / Pay Range:

Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
