Part-Time Production Assistant

Inglewood, CA

The NFL Media Inglewood office is looking for a part-time Production Assistant to join the team. This position will report to the Sr. Manager, Production, and will be involved in all aspects of studio-based shows.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with show Producers, Segment Producers, and Highlights Supervisor on a daily basis to support content created for daily studio programming
  • Work in edit bays - responsible for producing various elements for shows with editors
  • Transcribing interviews, press conferences, and other related sound
  • Responsible for watching a game and producing multiple highlights for various studio shows
  • Responsible for archiving important videos, teleprompting shows, and other various tasks related to production
  • Must be able to respond quickly under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
  • Daily adherence to established production schedules to meet deadlines

Required Qualifications

  • Strong NFL knowledge (present day & historical)
  • Strong editorial judgement and attention to detail/organizational skills
  • Ability to decipher the most important and up-to-date information for all NFL stories
  • Strong understanding of workflows in control rooms and edit environments
  • Good communication and writing skills
  • Ability to perform basic statistical and information-based research

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Previous professional experience in a TV production environment is strongly preferred
  • Basic understanding of linear editing and on-air graphics systems

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and/or projects at once and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to establish open communication and perform well under pressure
  • A team-oriented attitude on all tasks, from the largest to the smallest

Travel

  • Some domestic travel may be required during key events (5%)

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • Work no more than 29 hours/week
  • Overnight, weekend, and holiday hours are commonly expected
  • Overtime may be required during the busiest times of the season

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials, or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
