Extern – Club Finance

The Extern – Club Finance role will be a key member of the Club and Labor Finance department that focuses on overall League economics incorporating Member Club financials. The extern will review, analyze, and synthesize club financial information as well as build and maintain League economic models.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain, update and improve the League-wide club projections financial model which compiles all 32 clubs projections and is used as the basis for League economic analysis
  • Assist in the collection, review and update of the clubs’ financial projections
  • Address ad hoc club requests and projects that involve the use of League-wide financial information and club benchmarking data
  • Build and maintain dynamic financial models to illustrate potential outcomes related to new or revised League finance policies, revenue sharing, stadium development, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations to senior management
  • Interact with other League departments (club business development, corporate finance, labor finance) to provide relevant club financial information to support League strategic initiatives

Required Professional and Education Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in finance, mathematics, or a related quantitative field of study
  • 2 - 4 years of work experience

Preferred Skills

  • Strong financial and modeling; at least 2 years of building, maintaining, and updating comprehensive financial models
  • At least 2 years of experience writing and assembling drafts of detailed management-level presentations
  • Microsoft Excel skills must be very strong
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with large volumes of information
  • Superior analytical skills with the ability to analyze from both a micro level and a macro level
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
  • High level of organizational ethics, integrity, compliance and adherence to confidentiality
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment

Expected Hours of Work

Full-time, 6-month externship in office.
