Live Events Marketing Manager, Pokémon GO (Short-term)

Live events are at the core of Niantic products and highlight our real-world social experience at its best. Niantic is looking for a Live Events Marketing Manager to support the marketing and execution of global events for Pokémon GO. These include major worldwide events such as Pokémon GO Tour and Pokémon GO Fest, and location specific events such as Pokémon GO City Safaris. The ideal candidate will have a passion for crafting and producing experiences that fans remember for a lifetime.

As someone who will work under tight timelines with internal (Engineering, Product, Operations, and Legal) and external teams (agencies, vendors, and partners), the ideal candidate is an outstandingly organized collaborator who knows how to work alongside multiple partners to align on a common vision and execute perfectly.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of our live events marketing calendar.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to conceptualize and execute live events globally, ranging from 5,000 to 300,000 players.
  • Collaborate with project leads to effectively manage key workstreams, including drafting copy, building decks, and updating key documents.
  • Manage and support project management through tools such as Asana, workback schedules, and internal slide creation.
  • Create and track against detailed workback schedules, ensuring key milestones are met on time.
  • Coordinate logistics with various internal team members, partners, and vendors.
  • Deliver post event reports with data-driven analysis including attendee feedback, goal attainment, and recommendations for future event improvements.
  • Support the branded event asset creation process from design to approval to production.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience producing live events and/or managing complex marketing projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice. 
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including asynchronous interactions with others.
  • Willingness to travel.

Plus If...

  • Passion for Pokémon GO and the Pokémon franchise.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Asana.
  • Proficiency in G Suite.

The hourly rate for this role is between $52.00/hr - $72.00/hr.

This is a contractor position and the work should be performed based on service agreement and SOW. Niantic will not offer Contractor direct employment contract, salary, benefits, equities, or any compensation associated with employment.
