Quality Engineer, Tokyo Studio
Niantic’s Quality Engineering (QE) team is seeking a Quality Engineer who will be responsible for QE feature testing efforts for Pokémon Go. As a Quality Engineer, you will work closely with our other QE team members, our QE Director, and our production team to ensure that we are delivering high-quality experiences to our players. You will be responsible for planning, creating, implementing, and executing testing for core areas of our games.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage testing estimates, schedules, timelines, bug analytics/metrics, and mitigation plans.
- Manage Pokémon GO feature testing and integration across Niantic’s technologies and platform.
- Collaborate with our TPMs to interface with external QE resources and with the development team to track defects during feature development.
- Drive the development and execution of test cases and suites for new features.
- Report project testing efforts to our project leads and production team.
- Work with the QE leadership team on QE process improvements.
- Required in-office 2 days on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Qualifications
- You have a BS in Computer Science or another technical major and/or a minimum of 3 years of software QE experience.
- Proven understanding of QE methodology and tools.
- Experience leading, building, and crafting test strategies for game and consumer-facing products.
- Ability to work both individually and collaboratively as part of a team.
Plus If...
- One or more years of mobile testing/QA experience.
- Passion for mobile devices and mobile gaming.
- Experience writing test automation/scripts.
