Head of Corporate Operations, Japan

Tokyo, Japan

At Niantic Japan, now part of the Scopely family, we are looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to help craft the future of our Corporate Operations in Japan.

This is not just about operations — it’s about people and purpose. Niantic has always been a passionate and purposeful company. We believe in using technology to bring people together in the real world, and that belief is reflected in the way we work. Over the years, we’ve built a culture grounded in inclusion, respect, and care — for one another, our players, and the communities we serve. Our Tokyo office embodies this spirit, and we’re looking for someone who can help us carry that forward while building operational excellence.

This is a critically important role, reporting to the President, Japan Business. You will lead local efforts and work closely with global teams.

What You’ll Do

🏢 Corporate Operations & Administration

We take pride in running a well-oiled learning machine that iterates fast. You will:

  • Lead day-to-day corporate operations in Japan — including vendor and contract management, compliance, security, and office facilities
  • Ensure that key processes (vendor payments, stamping, regulatory filings) are completed accurately and on time
  • Foster a safe, productive, and welcoming workplace for all

📊 Planning and Supporting Organization

We gain experience and expand in a measured manner. You will:

  • Partner with the Japan leadership team to support planning, prioritization, and headcount alignment
  • Find opportunities to streamline operations and improve team efficiency
  • Serve as a strategic, objective advisor on org structure and talent deployment

🌈 Culture & Engagement

We believe people do their best work when they feel they belong. You will:

  • Lead internal programs and events that connect, include, and energize our team (Kids Day, Offsites, Holiday Parties, and more.)
  • Evolve a culture that embraces global talent, especially those based in Tokyo
  • Champion Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) across the organization

🚀 Talent Branding & Hiring Enablement

We’re proud of our mission — and we want the world to know! You will:

  • Craft employer branding strategies that position Niantic Japan as a top destination for outstanding talents
  • Collaborate with recruiters to improve the candidate journey and grow a diverse pipeline

🔄 Cross-functional Leadership

We’re better when we work as one. You will:

  • Act as the local liaison for Niantic's and Scopely’s global teams, ensuring clear, respectful, and collaborative execution
  • Thoughtfully adapt and localize global strategies to align with Japan’s market and cultural context

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven ability in corporate operations, workplace management, or organizational development
  • Proficiency in both Japanese and English languages
  • Strong decision-making, communication, and execution abilities
  • Experience working across cultures with empathy and flexibility
  • A team-first approach with high integrity and operational focus
  • Drive for encouraging a passionate, mission-aligned workplace
  • Experience in gaming, entertainment, or creative tech is a bonus.

Bonus Points (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Previous leadership experience in a global company
  • Success in leading change or redesigning organizational structures
  • Experience driving DEIB or internal communications programs
  • Collaboration with U.S. or international collaborators
  • MBA or equivalent experience

Reasonable Accommodations

We’re committed to providing reasonable accommodations during the recruitment process and in the workplace for candidates and employees with disabilities or other access needs. Please let us know how we can support you.

We believe that cultivating a workplace where our people are supported and included is essential to creating great products our community will love.
