Manager, DevOps Engineering
At NiCE, we don’t limit our challenges. We challenge our limits. Always. We’re ambitious. We’re game changers. And we play to win. We set the highest standards and execute beyond them. And if you’re like us, we can offer you the ultimate career opportunity that will light a fire within you.
So, what's the role all about?
We're looking for a Manager of DevOps to lead our Site Reliability / DevOps team supporting the NiCE CXone Expert platform. Expert is a multi-tenant SaaS knowledge management platform running on Kubernetes across multiple AWS regions, serving enterprise customers globally.
As our customer base grows, the stakes for reliability and performance grow with it. You'll manage a team of Senior DevOps Engineers, own SLO targets and incident response processes, and drive the infrastructure and operational improvements that keep the platform fast and available. You'll also be responsible for building a team culture around SRE best practices and AI-forward engineering.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll be in the architecture discussions, participating in incident response, and helping your team work through complex infrastructure and application-level problems, not just reviewing their work from a distance.
How will you make an impact?
-Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Senior DevOps Engineers. Own hiring, performance management, and career development.
-Manage on-call rotations and build sustainable incident response practices, including structured post-incident reviews and follow-through on action items.
-Define and track service-level objectives (SLOs) and error budgets for the platform. Use them as engineering decision tools, not vanity metrics.
-Research, design, and drive architectural improvements to the platform's infrastructure. The team looks to this role for technical direction.
-Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS (EKS, RDS, CloudFront, Route53, and related services) across multiple regions.
-Drive Infrastructure as Code maturity using CloudFormation and Terraform: state management, drift detection, and module reuse at scale.
-Improve CI/CD pipeline reliability, including progressive deployment strategies (blue-green, canary) and automated rollback.
-Implement chaos engineering practices (game days, fault injection) to validate system resilience before customers find the gaps.
-Work closely with development teams to improve application performance and operational readiness of releases.
-Collaborate with security teams on compliance (SOC 2, CIS, NIST) and embed security practices into the team's workflows.
-Drive adoption of AI tools across DevOps workflows, from IaC generation and incident triage to automated root cause analysis and code review. We're building a team that actively embraces AI to move faster.
Have you got what it takes?
-8+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering, with at least 3 years leading a team.
-Deep AWS expertise, with strong Kubernetes and EKS experience in production.
-Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation and/or Terraform).
-Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, ArgoCD, or similar).
-Working knowledge of observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent).
-Understanding of SRE practices: SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident management, and blameless post-mortems.
-Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash).
-Excellent communication. You can translate infrastructure risk into language that stakeholders and product teams understand.
You will have an advantage if you have:
-Experience operating multi-region AWS architectures at scale.
-Background in chaos engineering or resilience testing (Litmus, Gremlin, AWS FIS).
-Track record of cloud cost optimization that balances spend with reliability.
-Familiarity with security compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, CIS benchmarks).
-Active use of AI tools in your engineering workflow (Copilot, Claude, or similar).
-Experience with event-driven architectures (Kinesis, SQS/SNS).
-AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or similar certifications.
