Director, Information Technology Infrastructure

Remote

Build the Infrastructure That Powers a Mission

At Nightingale Education Group, we're closing the nursing shortage — one learner at a time. Our work is bold, our team is passionate, and our technology has to keep pace with both. We're looking for a Director, IT Infrastructure who doesn't just keep the lights on — they build the grid.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who thinks in systems, thrives in transformation, and knows how to translate deep technical expertise into organizational impact. You'll own the full IT infrastructure landscape — from hardware and networks to support operations — and you'll shape the long-term technology roadmap for a growing, mission-driven institution.

If you're energized by the intersection of strategy and execution, and you want your work to matter beyond the server room, this is your seat at the table.

What You'll Do

Lead Infrastructure at Scale

  • Drive infrastructure transformation initiatives that position Nightingale to grow efficiently and sustainably.
  • Develop and execute the strategic direction for IT infrastructure — hardware, software, networks, and beyond.
  • Ensure high availability and peak performance of IT systems across the organization.

Set the Standard

  • Implement and maintain IT infrastructure policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and trends, bringing continuous improvement and innovation to everything you touch.
  • Identify and implement process and policy improvements — and ensure they actually stick.

Lead People and Projects

  • Manage IT infrastructure projects end-to-end: conception, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Lead, develop, and support your team across performance, behaviors, and competencies — investing in people as much as platforms.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to assess and address technology needs across the organization.
  • Participate in hiring decisions, panel interviews, and candidate selection.

Own the Budget

  • Develop and manage the functional budget, ensuring resources and assets are deployed effectively within approved parameters.

What You Bring

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and support roles.
  • 5+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.
  • 5+ years working with systems and network architecture, information security principles, and IT best practices.
  • A proven ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders — clearly and confidently.

Bonus Points

  • COBIT and/or ITIL certification or demonstrated working knowledge.

Budgeted Hiring Range

$154,000 - $168,000 USD

All new hires are required to attend New Collaborator Orientation (NCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The College will cover travel, lodging, and other accommodations.
