About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Robotics organization, focused on building the backend and robotics platform software that powers our robot-enabled products. You will design and ship reliable services, APIs, and operational tooling. This role is primarily software and systems engineering working closely with robotics team.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with robotics, ML, and product teams to define requirements and turn them into well-architected software systems.
- Design, build, and operate backend services and APIs that support production workflows and customer-facing features.
- Own integrations between our multi-agent systems, cloud infrastructures, internal tooling, and robot-facing interfaces.
- Build orchestration and state management services that coordinate long-running operational processes.
- Improve reliability and scalability through robust testing, observability, incident response, and performance tuning.
- Drive software engineering best practices across the team by producing high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code and raising the bar in reviews.
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to improving team processes and technical standards.
- Participate in and often lead design reviews, code reviews, and technical planning sessions.
- Join an on-call rotation and help diagnose and resolve production issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong self learning and improvement mindset.
- Strong proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Rust, Python, C++.
- Strong fundamentals in backend services, distributed systems, data modeling, and API design.
- Demonstrated experience designing scalable systems and leading complex technical projects.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Nice to have
- Experience observability stack like OpenTelemetry.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and production.
- Experience building internal developer platforms, tooling, or workflow systems.
- Exposure to automation environments such as warehousing, manufacturing, or logistics.
What else to know
$180,000 - $250,000 a year
The above range is a starting salary range for candidates meeting the minimum qualifications. This position will also receive generous equity!
