About the Role

We are growing and adding a Product Manager to our team. As the Product Manager for NinjaOne's billing product, you will own how Managed Service Providers (MSPs) turn the services they deliver into accurate, timely invoices. You will shape the product vision, define the feature roadmap, and work with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to bring new billing capabilities to life. You will prioritize the product backlog and ensure timely, high-quality releases that align with market needs and business objectives.

MSP billing is unusual: contracts mix per-user, per-device, block-time, and project work; licenses arrive from distributors and vendors on their own cycles; and every month the finance team reconciles all of it against the PSA, the accounting system, and the general ledger. We are looking for someone who has lived that process.

Above all, we are looking for someone with the instincts of a great product manager: a genuine curiosity about why things break, a drive to understand a problem deeply before reaching for a solution, and the judgment to decide what matters most when everything feels urgent. You listen closely to customers, test your assumptions against data, and communicate clearly with engineers, finance teams, and executives alike. Paired with that, deep first-hand understanding of how an MSP quotes, bills, reconciles, and closes its books matters more to us than years of formal product management experience. If you have run billing at an MSP, administered a PSA, or managed the monthly close for an IT services business, and you want to build the tool you wish you had, we would love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Product Vision and Strategy: Develop and articulate the vision for NinjaOne's MSP billing product and define a strategy that aligns with how MSPs sell, deliver, and bill for their services.
  • Roadmap and Prioritization: Own the end-to-end billing roadmap, from quoting and contract setup through invoicing, reconciliation, and hand-off to accounting. Evaluate features, set priorities, and ensure initiatives ship on time and within scope.
  • Billing Model Design: Define how the product supports the full range of MSP billing approaches, including per-user, per-device, block-time, fixed-fee, and project billing, along with proration, mid-cycle changes, true-ups, and credits.
  • Quoting and Proposals: Shape the quote-to-cash flow so that proposals, agreements, and recurring services feed cleanly into billing without rekeying.
  • Distributor and Vendor Integrations: Partner with engineering on integrations with distributors such as Pax8 and with vendor licensing programs such as Microsoft's New Commerce Experience, so that license quantities, costs, and billing cycles stay in sync.
  • Accounting and Finance Alignment: Ensure the product handles tax codes, cost of goods, margin, and reconciliation in a way finance teams and their accountants trust, and that invoices and payments flow correctly into accounting systems.
  • Market and Customer Insight: Talk to MSP owners, service coordinators, and finance staff to understand where billing breaks down today. Translate those insights into product requirements that solve real problems.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and support to deliver a product that exceeds customer expectations. Lead cross-functional initiatives through development, launch, and adoption.
  • Integration and Ecosystem Planning: Coordinate with other product managers so that billing integrates smoothly with NinjaOne's ticketing, documentation, asset management, and the wider platform.
  • Other duties as required.

About You

First-hand MSP billing experience is the core requirement. Product management experience is valuable but not essential; we will support the right candidate in learning the craft.

What we need

  • 5+ years in the MSP or IT services industry in a role that touched billing, such as service delivery management, operations, finance, or PSA administration. Hands-on experience running billing at an MSP will make you a standout candidate.
  • Experience configuring and managing PSA tools (for example ConnectWise PSA, Autotask or HaloPSA), including agreements, contracts, products, and invoicing setup.
  • Deep understanding of MSP billing processes:
  • The quoting and proposal process, and how quotes become agreements and recurring services
  • Common MSP billing approaches such as per-user, per-device, block-time, fixed-fee, and time-and-materials
  • Advanced billing methodologies such as proration, mid-cycle changes, true-ups, and credits
  • Accounting practices for MSPs, including tax codes, profit and loss, and reconciliation against accounting systems such as QuickBooks or Xero
  • MSP cost structures, including fully burdened hourly rates, cost of goods sold, and margin by service line
  • Common licensing systems such as Microsoft's New Commerce Experience (NCE) and how their terms and billing cycles affect what MSPs invoice
  • The inventory management process for hardware and licenses, from procurement through to billing
  • Experience working with distributors and their APIs, such as Pax8, and an understanding of how distributor data feeds billing and reconciliation.
  • Empathy for MSP owners, technicians, and finance staff alike, and a genuine passion for taking the pain out of the monthly billing cycle.
  • Data-driven and comfortable using analytics and customer feedback to inform decisions.
  • Ability to craft clear requirements and presentations for diverse audiences, and to drive teams toward a common goal without formal authority.
  • Comfortable discussing technical details with engineering, including APIs, integrations, and data models.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a knack for juggling multiple priorities.

Nice to have

  • Product management experience with B2B SaaS, ideally in the IT management or financial software space, and a track record of taking features from concept to launch.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience with workflow automation or integrations between PSA, RMM, accounting, and payment tools.
  • Familiarity with accounting software integrations and payment processing.
