What you’ll do
As an Inspection Technician, you will support the development, optimization, and scaling of end-of-line manufacturing processes for advanced magnetic materials. This role involves:
Inspection
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of magnets and assemblies.
- Verify compliance with specifications using precision measurement tools.
Assembly
- Assemble magnetic components according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Handle adhesives, fixtures, and specialized tools for magnet integration.
Cleaning & Packaging
- Remove debris and contaminants from magnets prior to shipment.
- Package magnets securely for storage or delivery, following safety and quality standards.
Reliability Testing
- Perform functional and durability tests on magnets and assemblies.
- Document test results and report any deviations or failures.
Quality & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, assemblies, cleaning, and test results.
- Follow all safety and quality protocols.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Engineers to improve magnet handling and machining techniques.
- Support development and refinement of magnet processes from start to finish.
- Assist in the application of magnet coatings and related automation technologies.
- Assist with equipment specification and integration for machining, assembly, coating, packaging, and automation processes.
- Create and update process documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Adhere to and promote safety procedures in all work areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment at all times.
What we’re looking for:
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience in a collaborative production environment
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50 lb.
- Ability to self-direct and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Experience maintaining equipment and workspace cleanliness
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint
Nice to have:
- Prior coating experience
- Surface prep, taping, masking, and mixing chemicals
- Experience with adhesives and adhesion properties
- Attention to detail for defects and root cause analysis
- Experience with reliability or environmental testing (temperature, vibration, etc.)
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
Our pay and benefits:
- Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and skills
