This position is a part of the Technical Implementations Team.  Individual will be responsible for providing IT system and application support to NISC employees and customers in person as well as via phone and e-mail.

Essential Functions

  • Install and update Veeam Backup and Replication software for NISC members.
  • Monitor Veeam Backup and Replication jobs run at NISC member sites and in NISC’s Veeam data center.
  • Assist Technical Implementations Team with configuration of Linux and Windows servers and virtual machines.
  • Perform OS package and service pack upgrades on existing servers.
  • Create and test printers on Windows and Linux servers.
  • Install SSL certificates on Linux servers.
  • Monitor Windows and Linux servers via Xymon monitoring tools.
  • Log and develop action plans for support issues identified by Xymon.
  • Ensures that all information is appropriately entered and utilized in the iVUE Support tool.

Desired Experience

  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows servers and operating systems.
  • Familiarity with the setup and support of TCP/IP networks.
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively adapt to change.
  • Ability to interact in a positive manner with internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to convey technical solutions to both technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism, ethical behavior, and confidentiality.

Desired Education and/or Certification(s)

  • High School diploma or equivalency required
  • Pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field.
