Job Summary
As a Fertilizer Production Technician, you’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment that produces agricultural fertilizers. This role demands strong technical skills and a commitment to following all safety protocols to ensure efficient, effective, and safe production processes. This is a rotating 12-hour day-shift position covering 7 days per week. Night work is not typically expected, but may occasionally be required depending on production needs. Flexibility and teamwork are key as we scale operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating, cleaning, and maintaining reactors, pumps, tanks, blenders, and absorbers used in fertilizer production in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
- Monitoring and adjusting reactor parameters and equipment settings to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Performing water chemistry analysis and adjusting chemical feed(s) accordingly
- Performing routine preventative maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on plant systems
- Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical issues to minimize downtime
- Conducting basic product tests and inspections to ensure quality standards
- Keeping accurate records of production, maintenance, and safety checks
- Collaborating with engineers and R&D teams to improve processes and develop new products
- Following safety protocols and environmental guidelines to maintain a safe workplace
- The position is on-site in Delhi, California
- Work is for the day shift 6:00 - 18:00
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher, ora minimum of 5 years of technical training in engineering, physics, mechanics, electrical systems, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with tools, machinery, or industrial equipment
- Comfortable working with high-pressure systems
- Comfortable completing electrical calibrations
- Ability to wear a respirator and lift heavy equipment when needed
- Forklift or scissor lift experience is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Team-oriented with good communication skills
- Willingness to take initiative and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced startup environment
