About the Venture

Millions living with rare diseases wait 6–7 years just to get a correct diagnosis. We’re building a solution to change that.

This new venture is developing a privacy-first AI platform that helps clinicians and pharma detect rare diseases earlier without exposing patient data. By securely connecting fragmented data across hospital systems, it will also accelerate matching patients to relevant clinical trials.

The company is already active across Europe, Southeast Asia, and Australia.

The Role

We’re seeking a CTO / CPO to join the founding team and lead the technical and product vision from MVP to global scale.

You will:

  • Build a secure, compliant, and scalable platform

  • Ensure real-world impact for hospitals, pharma, and patients

  • Work closely with the CEO and global advisors to shape product–market fit and technical excellence

Core Responsibilities

Technology Leadership (CTO)

  • Lead platform architecture and scale a privacy-preserving infrastructure

  • Guide DevOps, backend/frontend, and AI pipeline development

  • Ensure compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, ISO 13485, MDR)

  • Integrate with hospital systems (EHR/EMR via FHIR, HL7, openEHR)

  • Oversee security, reliability, and performance at scale

  • Evaluate new technologies (GenAI, privacy-preserving AI, etc.)

Product Leadership (CPO)

  • Own the product roadmap: from MVP to global release

  • Conduct user discovery with hospitals, clinicians, and pharma

  • Translate clinical/regulatory needs into actionable features

  • Prioritize features that accelerate time-to-diagnosis

  • Define success metrics, validation pathways, and feedback loops

  • Foster a user-centred, iterative development culture

Experience & Skills

Must-Haves

  • 5+ years in technical/product leadership (startup, healthtech, or AI)

  • Strong privacy & security expertise: GDPR, encryption, secure SaaS

  • Experience building/scaling regulated software (CE-marked, FDA-ready)

  • Knowledge of clinical workflows and interoperability (FHIR/HL7)

  • Excellent cross-functional communication

  • Comfort with startup uncertainty and lean teams

Bonus

  • Experience in rare diseases, genomics, or patient registries

  • Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines, explainability, model validation

  • Understanding of payer, pharma, or CRO use cases

  • Experience with federated learning, homomorphic encryption, or differential privacy

 What You’ll Get

  • Co-founder level influence and equity

  • Direct impact on the lives of millions of patients

  • Work on a globally relevant problem at the intersection of AI, privacy, and health

  • Flexible, remote-first culture across Europe and Asia

  • Access to world-class advisors in rare diseases, digital health, and venture building

  • A team that values humility, purpose, innovation, and global impact

Join Us

We believe that no rare disease patient should go undiagnosed.
We believe that rare doesn’t mean invisible.

If you’re ready to make your technical leadership count, not just in code, but in lives saved, we’d love to hear from you.

Please apply directly through NLC Health Ventures.
