Database / Application Specialist

nLogic is seeking a Database / Application Specialist to support a mission-focused effort in the Huntsville area. This role will play a key part in supporting systems at The Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Advanced Research Center (ARC) within a collaborative defense and technology environment.

In this role, you will contribute to mission-critical efforts by applying your expertise in MSSQL databases and application development while working alongside government and industry partners to support operational success and customer objectives. The successful candidate will support the Application Development Lead in building architecture, automation, and data structure strategies for the ARC’s ServiceDesk Plus (SDP) and other custom database solutions as required. Other duties include managing system upgrades and tracking tasks for adding system capabilities and features.

Responsibilities

  • Document, design, test and implement custom technical solutions to support ARC Management support tasks
  • Provide recommendations to optimize/streamline existing processes and procedures by leveraging automated/custom scripts within the SDP Ticketing system
  • Provide hands on training and support to applicable groups within the team in relation to custom technical solutions and day-to-day operations
  • Create custom, automated, and on-demand reporting as needed by Management and support staff.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and document application and database issues on a daily basis

 
Required Qualifications

  • Active, in-scope Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance required.
  • Bachelors degree in related Information Management field
  • 4-8 years of related and relevant work experience
  • Experience with MSSQL deployment, managing, hardening and optimizing.
  • Experience in MSSQL based application customization to include but not limited to ServiceDesk Plus.
  • History of custom technical solution design and implementation strategies
  • Experience in the use of query design, scripting languages and REST API
  • Ability to anticipate future needs and create structures and processes that can be easily modified

 
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a Department of War (DoW) Environment
  • Experience working with ticketing system customizations, preferably ServiceDesk Plus or other Manage Engine Products
  • Experience in test and/or BMDS
  • Experience working in secured spaces
  • Experience in Service now
  • Experience with Power Apps and or Power BI


About the ARC
The Advanced Research Center (ARC) is a Missile Defense Agency (MDA) facility located in Cummings Research Park in Huntsville, AL. The ARC is a Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) facility designed and operated to support Missile Defense System (MDS) Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) Ground Test (GT) and Flight Test (FT) activities.

DTechLogic is the prime contractor supporting the ARC, which is a joint venture between Davidson Technologies and nLogic that was started in 2018. The DTechLogic ARC Team consists of five contractor teammates in Huntsville, AL. Standard ARC operation hours are 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, with some exceptions outside of this window to support test events that require night shift work for some positions.
