Bar Manager
Job Summary
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a full-time Bar Manager at Nobu Toronto. In this key leadership role, you will oversee all aspects of the bar operations, including the daily operations of the bar, exceptional customer service, efficient workflow, and adherence to all legal regulations. You will lead the bar team and manage financial performance to maximize profitability and maintain a welcoming atmosphere. Essential Functions
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the bar, including staffing, labour management, inventory management, and food & beverage service.
- Lead and motivate a team of bartenders and barbacks, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure exceptional service and guest satisfaction.
- Supervise and coordinate all bar colleagues, including recruitment, training, and scheduling.
- Develop and maintain standards and operating procedures for the bar in alignment with corporate guidelines, including guest service, drink preparation, inventory management, and cleanliness.
- Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations regarding alcohol service and safety.
- Manage inventory levels and orders to minimize waste and ensure adequate supply of beverages and bar supplies.
- Create and update drink menus, specials, and promotions to attract and retain loyal guests.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, including sales, expenses, and profitability, and implement cost-saving measures where appropriate.
- Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including regular cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork among colleagues.
- Stay current on industry trends and developments to continuously improve the bar’s offerings and operations.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or certificate required
- Degree in hospitality management or a related field preferred
- Smart Serve and Food Safety certified
Experience:
- At least three years leadership experience in Food and Beverage
- Prior experience within a luxury hotel preferred.
Must have the legal right to work in Canada
