Lounge / In-Room Dining Server (Part-Time)

This position is responsible for providing exceptional breakfast, lunch, and dinner service to hotel guests, whether in the lounge setting or through in-room dining. The server ensures a positive and efficient dining experience, maintaining high standards of service and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Lounge Service:
    • Greet and seat guests in the lounge area.
    • Take food and beverage orders accurately.
    • Serve beverages, including alcoholic drinks, and food items.
    • Maintain a clean and organized lounge environment.
    • Process payments and handle cash transactions.
    • Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items.
  • In-Room Dining:
    • Take in-room dining orders over the phone or through online systems, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
    • Prepare and assemble in-room dining trays and carts, ensuring all items are present and presented attractively.
    • Deliver in-room dining orders to guest rooms promptly and courteously, setting up tables and explaining menu items.
    • Retrieve in-room dining trays and carts from guest rooms in a timely manner.
    • Ensure accurate billing and processing of in-room dining orders.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of in-room dining areas.
  • General Responsibilities:
    • Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
    • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
    • Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and other hotel departments.
    • Provide exceptional customer service, anticipating guest needs and exceeding expectations.
    • Follow all hotel policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food and beverage service, preferably in a hotel setting.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.   
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and procedures.   
  • Ability to use POS systems and handle cash and credit card transactions.
  • Food Handlers and SmartServe certification.
  • Professional appearance and demeanour.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy trays and push carts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
