Restaurant Sales Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Restaurant Sales Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maximize revenue through the sale of private dining, events, and other individual and group bookings. This role requires strong sales acumen, excellent customer service skills, and a comprehensive understanding of restaurant operations
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales and Revenue Generation
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan to achieve and exceed established revenue goals for the restaurant including private dining and events.
- Identify, qualify, and secure new business through proactive cold calling, networking, site inspections, and community engagement.
- Manage all aspects of the sales cycle, from initial inquiry and proposal generation to contract negotiation and final booking.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and key community partners to ensure repeat business and positive referrals.
- Create dynamic sales packages, menus, and pricing strategies in collaboration with the Director of Food & Beverage and the Executive Chef.
Event Planning and Coordination
- Oversee the conversion of all event inquiries.
- Conduct detailed site tours and articulate the unique selling points of the venue(s).
- Ensure the preparation and distribution of detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
- Oversee invoicing, payment collection, and post-event follow-up.
Administration and Reporting
- Track sales activities, bookings, and revenue using the designated Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and booking software.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular sales forecasts, progress reports, and competitive analysis reports for the Director of Food & Beverage.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of client communications, contracts, and event details.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven sales experience, preferably in a full-service restaurant, hotel, or catering environment.
- Skills:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proven negotiation and closing skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM software (Tripleseat).
- A flexible schedule, including the ability to work evenings and weekends as required by events.
