About The Role:

The General Manager will oversee all aspects of HVAC and Plumbing business lines. This leader will drive growth, performance metrics, support culture, and develop all staff and management, constantly striving to be a world-class operator. We’re seeking a GM with an ‘owner’ mindset – this person is ultimately in charge of the P&L and must own all performance across the business. This is a unique entrepreneurship opportunity to take the “path less traveled.” Your ability to drive growth within the business, navigate a successful acquisition, and build a culture of customer excellence and employee satisfaction will lead to a long-term career with significant opportunities for growth. 

This is a full-time role that reports to the DMV Market Area Director.

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and development to HVAC, Plumbing, Service, Install, and Support teams ensuring quality work is on time, aligned with the budget, and to customer specifications
  • Develop forecasts for sales growth, market mix, and profitability with plans to meet such projections
  • Develop budgets for growth and profitability; track performance against those targets daily, weekly and monthly – disseminate the information to your teams
  • Review and control costs to reduce waste and unnecessary expenditures
  • Ensure proper pricing and adherence through routine job costing analysis; control material and equipment costs
  • Own all hiring and termination decisions; control labor allocation and costs
  • Communicate standards, expectations, and performance – the targets and KPIs – to your direct reports and their teams. Hold them to expectations and work with them to achieve goals
  • Provide leadership, direction and guidance to develop direct reports and their teams 
  • Partner with direct reports to build strong/targeted training programs for their teams to improve measurable performance
  • Focus on providing exemplary customer service, including maintaining customer relationships and ensuring repeat customers by coaching your team to sell the right solutions and services
  • Ensure sales & service system processes are implemented and followed
  • Ensure adherence of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws
  • Promote enthusiasm and brand loyalty during daily huddles, team meetings, and 1:1's

We’d Love to Hear From You If You Have:

  • 3+ years Management/Supervisory required, P&L experience required
  • Experience with, or deep respect for the Skilled Trades and/or similar industries is a must (Industry experience is preferred, especially if you have experience with forced air)
  • Exposure to or willingness to train in hydronics would be a nice to have
  • You’re a leader and strong competitor who excels in a fast-paced environment, driven by seizing opportunities 
  • You’re able to consider strategic, financial, and operational capabilities with a high level of emotional intelligence to support a healthy, growing organization
  • A servant leader at your core who inspires the team by rolling up their sleeves to solve problems with them
  • Willing and able to learn and help train industry standards and best practices
  • Bonus points if you’re a MBA graduate and/or Military veteran (we love working with veterans)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to apply critical thinking, risk analysis and develop solutions
  • We are willing to relocate qualified individuals

The pay for this position is $175,000/year or more depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Other incentive pay may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
