HVAC Maintenance Technician

The Role:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing periodic evaluations for Champion and Nash maintenance clients. The maintenance technician role has a dual purpose; to be the ambassador of service to our members, and to provide on-the-job training for future service technicians. Honesty, integrity and attention to detail are essential for this role. Since this role is meant to serve as a gateway to a career in the Heating and Air Conditioning industry, training progression is a requirement for continuing employment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Technician Performance
- Be punctual and ready for your shift daily.
- Properly evaluate and document system performance and condition for every visit using Champion and Nash’s dynamic forms.
- Deliver clear, confident communication to homeowners regarding their system’s health, and basic preventative maintenance recommendations.
- Achieve weekly and monthly maintenance completion targets.
- Maintain a clean, groomed, professional appearance and represent the company positively at all times.
- Accurately complete all required forms, checklists, and documentation with company provided tools.
- Be a good steward of any company property assigned for completion of maintenance.
- Earn consistent 5-Star Google Reviews and / or 10 NPS scored through the Applause app.
- Immediately report system deficiencies, safety concerns, client complaints, or potential upgrade opportunities to Dispatch and / or the Service Manager.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked vehicle at all times.
- Training
- Participate in all training assigned by the Service Manager.
- Successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency for training topics in accordance with the maintenance technician training record.
- Proficiencies are time-bound. Should proficiencies not be met in accordance with the maintenance technician training schedule, disciplinary action, up to and including separation from employment will result.
We’d Love To Hear From You If You Have
- A few years of experience in the HVAC industry, okay if a recent graduate of an HVAC school
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Valid driver’s license
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Must consider safety one’s primary job and must have general knowledge of safe working practices and OSHA requirements
- To adequately perform the duties of this job the team member is regularly and routinely required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, use hands to handle controls, hear, and talk
- Must be able to climb ladders, work in hot and cold environments, and work in small crawl spaces
- The ability to regularly lift and/or move 50+ lbs is required
- The work environment can vary depending on the season and scope of work – employees are required to work outdoors throughout the seasons
