We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 7–10 years of hands-on experience to lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems and hardware products. Responsibilities

Design & Development

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
• Own the full product lifecycle, including 3D modeling, detailed drawings, P&IDs, PFDs, BOM generation, and equipment specifications.
• Design and integrate complex process systems incorporating instrumentation such as thermocouples, pressure sensors, and flow meters.
• Perform engineering analyses including stress, thermal, fluid, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Support the development of mechanical systems for demanding high-temperature operating environments.

Documentation & Engineering Standards

• Create and maintain technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation in accordance with applicable industry standards and safety requirements.
• Apply GD&T principles and ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
• Participate in and lead design reviews, providing technical guidance to the broader engineering team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, product, and other engineering teams throughout the full development cycle.
• Support prototyping, testing, design validation, and production-readiness activities.
• Interface with vendors and suppliers on component and equipment selection, technical evaluations, specifications, and procurement.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify and resolve mechanical design issues through structured root-cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.
• Drive improvements in product performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.
• Incorporate testing, analysis, and cross-functional feedback into iterative design improvements.

Qualifications

Required

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 7–10 years of relevant industry experience, with demonstrated ownership of products or mechanical systems from concept through production.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred

• Experience with energy systems, chemical processing, long-duration energy storage, or advanced hardware startups.
• Experience designing complex process systems involving instrumentation and vendor-supplied equipment.
• Experience with high-temperature mechanical systems and materials.

Location

On-site in Mountain View, California. This role is expected to work primarily from Noon Energy's Mountain View location, or another future Bay Area location.

Compensation

Base salary: $180,000–$205,000 annually, with a target range of approximately $190,000–$195,000, plus a meaningful early-stage equity grant.

Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, skills, and other relevant factors.
