About the project 

Join a product engineering team building and improving web-based software and digital services. In this full-stack role, you will develop new features, contribute to technical design discussions, and work with a cross-functional Agile team. The role offers the opportunity to work across PHP back-end development and front-end technologies, with supporting tools and services used across modern web applications. 

What you’ll do 

• Develop and implement new product features and enhancements across the application stack. 

• Contribute to software architecture and design discussions, sharing practical technical input. 

• Build and maintain PHP applications and RESTful APIs, and work with front-end technologies as needed. 

• Work with PostgreSQL databases, including writing complex SQL queries and contributing to database schema design. 

• Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies. 

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to identify functional or performance issues and implement effective solutions. 

• Use relevant development tools, including AI tools where appropriate, while maintaining attention to quality and detail. 

• Take part in Nortal's Technical Interviewer Program, conducting technical interviews for your account and other accounts to help build the teams behind Nortal's growth. 

What makes you a great fit  

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field 

• At least 3 years of full-stack development experience, ideally including PHP and Node.js. 

• Strong object-oriented programming skills in PHP and hands-on experience with an MVC framework such as Laravel, Symfony, or Lumen. 

• Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. 

• Experience writing complex SQL queries and designing database schemas with PostgreSQL. 

• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs. 

• Analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify functional or performance issues and address them proactively. 

• Exceptional attention to detail, clear verbal and written communication, and a strong commitment to quality, innovation, and collaborative teamwork. 

• Familiarity with one or more of the following is valuable: Redis, Memcached, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Solr, Docker, Kubernetes, and AI tools or AI-enabled development workflows. 

• Advanced English Level is required for this role as you will work with US clients. Effective communication in English is essential to deliver the best solutions to our clients and expand your horizons.
